Default Should all armies have chapters?

should all warhammer 40k armies have chapters or should the armys stay the way they are ???

Edit by Tau Online - again, welcome to this site. However please remember to use good spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Edit by Fish Ead - just made the title a bit more clear

I think you need to elaborate more - do you mean that all races should be divided so, or all marine should be?

Or do you mean all (famous) chapters should have their own codex?

If you have to even ask whether other armies should have Chapter divisions, you clearly haven't looked at the most basic background 'fluff'.

Novae may be being a bit blunt but he's right, greatmaju and spacemarine645 it is quite important to maintain a decent level of grammar and spelling when posting on a serious discussion forum, such as Tau Online. It is key to other members understanding your posts and providing you with the feedback you want.

Don't lots of races have different things, like space marine chapters, eldar craftworlds, ork warbands, tau races (I don't know what they are called when they don't have the same colour armour as the ones on the box), imperial guard regiments, 2 sections of the inquisition. So they don't really have chapters they have groups if you know what I mean.

Also Adamblaze, there areat least 3 Ordos.

I think every single race does have different armies within them, because otherwise people would feel very straight-jacketed.

Can you imagine the workload though if every sub sect of an army was given its own book - not to mention the actualy design of (which takes 6 odd months if memory serves) but the playtesting of each sub sect, ensuring they were balanced against the whole?

They have enough trouble with the armies they already do have, let alone hundreds of sub sects.

Sorry Rafe, that wasn't what I meant. I'm slightly confused because the original post is so difficult to decipher.

I don't think he meant every for sub-army have codexes, I just think he meant for every race to have sub-armies, which they already do.
