Is it an apocolypse rule?
Or cities of death

Otherwise it's not in the 40k rule book :P

Void Shield rules are found, typically, in whatever Imperial Armour has the shielded vehicles in it.

There are also two versions, both from IA I believe. One simply discounts the hit, the other counts as like an extra armour value you have to get through first.

The rules are in Apoclalypse, also i know the Warhound has rules for them in IA 3.

Essentially they act as an additional armour that has to be removed before damage can be done to the thing inside.

So you must score a glancing hit or better on each void sheild to remove it, once all sheilds are removed you may start actually taking shots at the walker. Though I beleive if you get within 12" of it you are considered "inside" the sheild and they can no longer be used.

A warhound has 2 of them, a warlord has 6, just for comparitive purposes if your making a new unit.

It is also in Apocalypse. I don't know if it's the same in the Apoc book as in others, but the gist of it is that each void shield has a certain armor value, something quite similar to the front of a dread, and is depleted with any glancing or penetrating hit. They can be restored at the end of the turn with about the same probability of an ork shooting something. Roll once for each remaining structure point.

Falstead replied while I was writing this. Everything he said is true too, I just forgot to include it.
