Default Victory Points and Dedicated Transports

In a case where you have a unit that has a dedicated transport and that transport is blown up, how do the victory points work? It says he'd get full points for the transport in the victory point listing. So, if my unit was 150 points (including the transport), and say the transport was 50 points, he'd then get 50 victory points, correct? The unit itself wasn't worth anything, they were above half. Want to make sure we did it correctly, or learn the correct way if not.

I thought that the dedicated transport was "worthless" for victory points and didn't affect.

Going to have to recheck this.

"Non-Scoring Unit" doesn`t mean the opponent can`t earn victory points destroying it; non-scoring only means that you can`t fulfill mission objectives with them.
Similarly, ICs are never scoring, but sure as hell do you earn VPs if you shoot Abaddon to a kingdom come

Cheers,

It seemed to make sense, but you know GW, so wanted to make sure. Thanks!

So, does that mean then if he took out that unit, but not the transport, then he'd get 100 points, using my previous example?

Aye. For VP-purposes, transports and their units are treated completely separately.

Much Like ICs and their bodyguards, I`ve been told

Gotcha, thanks again. In all my games, this is only about the 3rd time it was worth figuring it out, so was a bit fuzzy on it.

Thor, that is why I list the unit and the transport separately on army lists. That way you don't have to do math at the end of the game.

I've always done that too, but it was to make my life easier in reading my list and not forget something. Of course, it did some in handy when figuring this out.
