Default heavy guns

I have a question about heavy guns. Lets say you have a squad of troops or any squad, and you have each trooper having a rapid fire gun except one with a heavygun. If the squad moves except the man with the heavy gun and he is still in squad range, can he fire?

No. Movement of any kind prohibits the firing of heavy weapons in most squads. If one model in the squad moved, the entire squad counts as moving.

Hope that was clear

The only time that they are allowed to fire heavy weapons if they move is if they have suspensers, which are only available to the Grey Knights and the Deathwatch kill teams. They halve the distance of the weapon and make it assault.

And even then, IIRC, a different profile for the weapon is given, making it assault, so, technically, they aren`t firing a "heavy" weapons, just a weapon with two firing modes in assault mode.

Only "slow an purposeful" units may truly move and shoot heavy weapons.

Not true; Terminators can as well. So can Attack Bikes.

Awright, humbled by the mighty Wargamer

Of course, WG is right.

So, in a nutshell:

You can only fire heavy weapons when you`ve moved if you are:

1) A Terminator
2) A Bike/Jetbike
3) A unit with the SaP-Rule
4) A vehicle
