Default Turning to Face/Crew Stunned Question

Can a vehicle suffering from a Crew Stunned result pivot on the spot?

No. Stunned vehicles may not move, and Pivoting is a form of movement.

Not sure about that... The rules say that pivoting on the spot in the shooting phase does not count as movement. It is worth mentioning though that you cannot pivot in the shooting phase if you have moved in the movement phase. That's lawyerswise; but I think if you do intend to follow the spirit of the rules, you cannot physically move the vehicle in any way if it's stunned.

Nor shoot it so you cant pivot if you stood still cause you cant target anything... Thats why its "stunned"

This is a RAW vs. RAI debate.

Go with RAI in this case. Even if the book says that pivoting doesn't count as movement, this is only meant to represent the ability to fire ordinance and heavy weapons, and crew stunned should logically still prevent it.

Given that Crew Stunned means you can't move or shoot - then you can't pivot on the spot, period. If it were just Crew Shaken, then it could still move in the movement phase, but can't do anything in the shooting phase.

I'm with the RAI people (as usual), if your crew is stunned they're not supposed to be able to move...as in at all. You could make a case for being able to pivot but that implies that SOMEONE'S able to pilot the vehicle.

Not to mention that if your opponent gets the stunned result it's to make it easier the next turn to bash some vulnerable armor...kinda unsportsmanlike to try to take that away from them. Does it suck? Of course, but then that's just the way I see it.

I'd take it as.. Crew Shaken/Stunned would basically eliminate your Shooting Phase, and Movement Phase where applicable. In other words, the Shaken/Stunned vehicle doesn't get to do anything whatsoever during those phases.

My take on it?

During the shooting phase, you TURN because you want to SHOOT at a target.

Since you can`t shoot, you can`t turn. End of debate.
