Default Last Man(model) Standing Tourny

I just played in a tourny where you played for 4 turn against an opponent, then a second 4 turn game against a second opponent and anything that happened in the previous round stayed the same.

Has anyone else played with strange formats for tournys?

I would suggest trying this format it is a lot of fun(and funny when someone with 5 models left after the first round survives to the semi-finals 3 games latter)

Sounds interesting.... Sucks for Tyranids losing their synapse though. SHouldn't this be in the enclave or general 40k? No mention of IG at all.

That sounds like fun actually...but how would you move the board? Do you just keep the models that're alive at the end of the turn?

I think he means you start off with your 2000 point force, play a game, and any units you've lost stay lost. At the next game, you set up as normal, minus the units that you've lost, and play normally until only one person is left.

Alternatively, you could start with a pool to draw out of to replenish your forces for longer/larger tounaments.

Oh, I thought he meant it like so:
You play for four rounds. Then whatever is left is left how it is and somebody else plays your army from where it currently is. Same goes for the other side. Then if the armies are still alive after four turns again, then you repeated.

Yeah that does sound fun. What armies were playing? Did you have a necron player? I could see a problem if you had a necron player

ok sorry for not being clear

you start with 1000pts and pair off (we had IG (me), black templars, SoB, DH (no grey knights), chaos, normal marines, DA, and a necron. one player each)

play a 4 turn game. anything left alive is redeployed (you can change tables etc.) in the next game (btw wounded characters stay wounded and wounded tanks(imobilized, armament destorys) are not refreshed)

continue until only one person has any models left that person is the winner

the necron player had an advantage but it wasnt that big a deal (he lost in the semifinals)

you could do 2000 but 1000pts took the better part of a day and replenishing seem more campaign like and kind of goes against the idea (last man standing)
