Default Very very old tyranids

After flicking through this months white dwarf i finally realised something. The squiqs in 40k are pretty well the same as the squigs in fantasy but the ones from 40k come from tyranids, does this mean that the earliest form of tyranid is actually in warhammer fantasy.

I.....I can't even begin to tell you what's wrong with that hypothesis....

Opps sorry guys. What i am trying to say is that tyranids appeared in warhammer fantasy before 40k in the form of squigs. A squig is bassically tyranid DNA mixed with Ork DNA correct?

No.

A Squig is a base-level Orcoid / Orkoid (depending on setting). They no longer have any connection with the Tyranid race; that background is no-longer Canon.

There is a bit of connection - before we had Ripper Swarms we had Squig Swarms, made from Ork DNA. Other than that, there is no connection, and there hasn't been one for years.

Seriously, do you get off on Fantasy Tyranids or something?

Fantasy Squigs have always been Pure Orkoid.

Squigs USED to be PURE Tyranids. Then they became Part-Tyranid. Now they're Pure Ork in all settings. Accept it.

...so an Ork slept with a Nid and that's how it went from being PURE Tyranid to being part?
