Default Number of posts on a list

I love review other peoples lists, especially ones that are of the same army has you.

But i have notice something, the lists that i post bearly get any replies. This has happen to all my lists in the 3 forums that i tour around.

Which got me thinking, does the number of replies reflexed the qualty of your list? and if so, how?

No not at all. It's just generally that people don't comment on lists, I rarely do. Because an army list is your personal preference, there are very few things a person can comment on, advice can be helpful yes but it takes time and generally generates no discussions so few people bother doing it. It's certainly a problem but there really is no fix for it.

I think lists that get more replies are probaby either not very good or cheesy and people reply to point this out and advise changes. If your lists get few replies then that could mean your list is OK.

Either that or they do not even bother.

But don't put too much thought about it. It happens.

I always find with other peoples lists - I play my way, and all my advice usually leans to advising someone to change to my style of play.

Example: Some posts a list for rating, and has a Railhead. I despise railheads (1 year of never hitting/damaging soured them for me - Ion Cannons all the way now) so my natural advice is going to be "Drop the RH, get 2 Broadsides from Forgeworld (FW Fanboy and proud ).

This may not help Mr. X in the slightest, because he doesn't want, can't have what ever broadsides, so my posted comments on his list are then, well, not helpful in the slightest.

So I try not to comment lists (unless its exceptionally good or poor) as any advice I offer will be well suited to my style of play, but might go against Mr. X's style.

Sometimes people are not really as open to ideas as they appear to be either. I have noticed a lot of lists where people attempt to help and the person that listed the list in the first place is overly defensive about it. That kind of turned me off to it. If you knew how good your list was in the first place why did you ask for help? That kind of attitude. Not saying that is yours but that is also a reason people seldom comment on army lists.

I very rarely look at lists and give advice, as well. I did, at first, but sooner or later I recognized most lists, and if you have to give the same advice over and over again (no AFP/Flamer on your Commander; Multitracker on vehicles; rethink the FB on the Stealths, etc...), it gets very tiresome...
