Default Extra Movement you want? Here's a nice little tactic.

Okay... so say you hav a squad who needs to be another 6" forward. Charge a vehicle. Well any vehicle that isnt a walker. Even if you cant hurt it you have just made up 6". And if can hurt it (even if only just) then not only have you moved an extra 6" but you can attmpt to damage the vehicle you assaulted. Handy to do it on the last turns if the enemy has a vehicle on an objective...

Moral to the story... NEarly always assault a vehicle.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Here's a tricky question, if a unit with hit and run charges a vehicle, do they get to make the fancy jump out at the end of the phase?

No... as you cannot consolidate after fighting a vechile (unless it was a walker) IIRC

I also think that in the following turn they don't count as in combat and the vehicle or unit can either walk away, or other units can shoot at it. So seeing as your technically not in combat, hit and run wouldn't really work for the purpose you strive for.

Related questions:
- If I fired my "rapid fire" weapons in the shooting phase I can't charge anything, can I?
- If I fired "assault" weapons in the fire phase I can't assault any other unit than the one I fired at, correct?
- Is it considered "good form" or "cheesy" to declare assault on an enemy unit that is obviously out of assault range (just to be able to move the extra 6")?

Cheers
Olle

Nope. If you fire a Rapid Fire weapon, you can't charge.

Correct. This applies to all weapons, however, not just Assault weapons.

It is considered CHEATING! That is totally illegal!

If you are not in charge range, you cannot make an assault move.

The downside to this is there is a likelihood that your men will be forced to clump up, making them a better target for things like blast weapons
