Default Unofficial forces in Apocolypse

As an avid Kroot Mercenaries collector and player, the advent of the new apocolypse release brings a slew of worries.

Currently, my Mercs army is the only one large enough to truly field at this level. However, since it is not a codex-official army, I'm unsure as to what strategic adjustments might be allowed for such a force. I would very much rather NOT be cut out of what might be the biggest battles ever.

Anyone know if there is/will be any allowances in Apocolypse for unofficial armies like K.Mercs?

I would assume most people would let you. The easiest would be to ally with Tau, just saying that since its a big game you get more of the Kroot command structure in the army. That might help provide the big heavy hitting guns you'll need (Railguns).

Apocalypse is about games between friends. Everything can be fielded.
Kroot will certainly not get any new rules for apocalypse, though.

Apocalypse is not about balanced games with focus on competetion. It is about enjoying several hous blasting insane amounts of costy miniatures off the table...
anything goes, buddy ;D

If the community can create rules for Mercs, then the community can make Apocolypse adjustments for them too.

Thank you all for the quick response. That provides a spot of calm for me.

And even if there isn't much that can be adjusted to give the kroot a lever against the massive forces of apocolypse, it's fun to play "cannon fodder" just to see how massive the destruction can be. ;D

Good lord that'd be awesome, a swarm of Kroot vs. a Swarm of Guardsmen...Both negating each others saves (except shapers), one fiercely defending themselves with bolters, the other attacking with claws and beaks.

Gives me a wargasm.

Um...kroot rifles AP6 vs guardsman 5+ save?
Lasguns ap- vs Kroot 6+ save?

Where's the negation?

Although having a 10K match between kroot and catachans with infiltrate allowed.... :-X

I can just see that in my mind now…

"Sir?"
"Yes private?"
"Did we just pass some chicken looking things back there?"
"What, I thought we were the ones sneaking around here."
***the other side of the same forest***
"Shaper Kha'nl"
"Geth'mani?"
"Did we just pass some humans sneaking in to the woods"
"What, we're the sneaky ones"

And for a game, it'll be pretty much deploy anywhere, then not within 12"/18" of those guys.
Then it'll be a battle of the cannon fodder. :P

Horrible idea: Spinegaunts in Apocalypse,
3000pts/Spinegaunt pts
600 gaunts.
I'd like to see someone take out that many by the end of the game.

It may be feasable with those Endless swarm boxes. Hell, if they are at the right price and have all the parts I may give it a try!
