Default Lots of Anti-Apoc!

I have been cruising the forums allot lately looking for the newest Jazz on Apocalypse
but in almost every races forum (Except Space Marines and Imperial Guard)
I have seen the same thread! Such as...

Tau and Apocalypse?
Chaos get no Apoc?
Blah Blah lack of Eldar!!!
PLEASE KILL ME NECRONS HAVE NO APOCOLYSE MODELS!!!

please stop posting these, yes i know it is annoying! but Apocalypse is more for the rules really and for bulking up the Imperium, because i think GW have realised that the space marines have been a bit neglected of late, (What with the Chaos' huge update and Dark Angels slowly becoming Uncared about, i mean this new Chaos update will last for Months before its 'Soooo last season' and the DA became 'Soooo last week' very quickly, and not to mention the desperate need for a new IG Codex, Which i've heard may be coming out next year!)
Thanks,

Am I getting this straight? You suggest us to stop whining about Apocalypse, only to start whining about how GW is pushing the Imperium (and SMs)?

While it`s true that the only races who shouldn`t complain bout Apocalypse are the IGs (Baneblade ftw) and the SMs (nifty new models), ALL races get their stuff - even if it are only new rules for existing models, or official rules for Forgeworld models (Barracuda ftw!).

given that the book is not yet out, there is little reason for all the doomsaying anyway. sure, we have a few previews, but not enough, and who's to say those are the final versions?

as for the 'lack of apocalypse models' for some factions, bah. Tau get some nifty, and accurate to the fluff, formation options. and probably will get more in chapter approved later. same for eldar, necron, ect. and every faction is probably going to get a few new models, they just haven't been confirmed yet.

I'm really sorry but to say GW has been neglecting space marines is nothing short of B*****T. They have had easily the most development time spent on them than ANY race over the last two decades and if anything a slight pause in their updates should only be welcomed as a step in the right direction (hopefully whilst they sort the other races out a little). I could launch into a flamefest, but I won't :P.

None of the sides should need new models if the IA stuff becomes legal. Theres more than enough for every side (bar the necrons, who frankly don't need anything extra and IMO should never have been included in the game anyway) to have massive toys to play with already from FW. Plus every side is getting some special multi buy box sets. I really don't see what there is not to like about this expansion (but that could just be because I have a full first company of space marines that hasn't been feilded on mass since 2nd ed).

My subtle diagram disagrees with you.
your "subtle" diagram contains Optimus Prime and Proffessor Farnsworth, it's heresy in it's own right!
Any similarities between your reality and mine are purely coincidental...

Um, Orks?? :

Chill, dude. Theres never been a release like this, and we still know very little officially. People are not seeing the whole picture, and are over reacting. No Chaos? Chaos Baneblade. No Necrons? FW Pylon, not to mention Monolith phalanxes, and I would not be surprised to see Aeonic Orb rules, or something like.

And lets not turn this into a flamefest.

People have been mentioning that the IA stuff is becoming legal, as if this were a means of offsetting the new rules in the Apocalypse book itself. But I am not sure how true this is. Imperial Armour rules are almost invariably over-costed and under-gunned. If Apocalypse releases new rules for the Forge World models (as they are supposedly doing for the Thunderhawk and the Warhound), everything should be fine.

But the book is in publication. If there are no rumors about something, chances are that it won't be a surprise come Fall. The best we can hope for in that case are later editions from the magazine.

Well a few issues at hand here.

1) Yes, there are too many Apocalypse threads per army board - though I would consider too many as more than one. It just gets repetitive and borders on getting bumped over to the Rumours board with all the speculation and complaints.

2) The complaints themselves about x army in relation to Apocalypse. It's really too early to tell; too early being prior to getting your hands on the book and reading it for yourself to see if your initial thoughts are justified. EVERY army gets datasheets of some sort, and through datasheets (and the inclusion of flyers), you can also use larger models - particularly those in the Forgeworld Range.

3) Speculation. There's a fair bit of it going around, even in this thread about the supposed IG codex. Let's keep it within our Rumours board please.
I don't think Space Marines have been neglected at all. A lot of their box art and models have been updated since the codex release; sets like the plastic devastators and plastic scouts to name a few.

Also that - Just because Imperial Guard happen to get a Baneblade doesn't mean every other race should get a big model. Mass-producing a Baneblade is a smart choice - ANY Imperial force can take one (*speculation) - plus - Orks and Chaos can convert and use their own versions of it. That already covers the majority of the armies available. That leaves: Eldar, Necron, Tau, and Tyranids.

So tell me, how many armies can take a Barracuda? One only. That's not going to sell well compared to the Baneblade. So almost as if to compensate - the remaining armies get a variety of Datasheets. Cloudstrike Squadron, Wind Rider Host, Monolith Phalanx, Armoured Interdiction Cadre, Rapid Insertion Force and more (see rumours. stuff like Kroot datasheets, Massive nid armies etc)!

Now as for the mention of IA stuff becoming legal - I don't think that's the case. Apparently there will be equivalent (if not slightly tweaked I would think) versions of the IA rules, included in the main Apocalypse Rulebook. Not an outright - "All IA is legal" ruling. The models themselves can be easily included in Apocalypse games of course though...

That's a new one to me. What is it supposed to do?

The Aeonic Orb is a Necron Super Heavy from Epic. Inside the Orb itself, the Necrons have a created Sun, which can release its energy like an Uber Power Whip. Look on the Specialist Game site for its (Epic) rules.

Also is the Abbatoir, kinda if like a Super Duper monolith/harvestor.

As far as I can see there isn't anything for witchhunter's players which really kind of sucks.
