i've been trying to track down a copy of this issue, and i'm a bit confused. there seem to be three different covers for this issue that i can find. the first is the same image as the firewarrior game. a firewarrior atop a pile of skulls.
the second is a picture of Aragorn from LotR's.
and the third is a pic of kights leaving some sort of castle.

was this an issue with variant covers, or are some of the images incorrectly labelled?

Which country are you looking for? I'm not sure if the covers differ much, but that may be a factor.

i think the American White Dwarf is always 1 issue ahead

Example: The new Chaos WD is issue 333 in the UK and issue 334 in the US

Although I'm not saying this isn't true it doesn't make alot of sense that a British magazine would be behind it's american variant by an issue. If anything I would have expected the American one to be several issues behind in terms of numbers.

The old white Dwarf Magazines were different in different countries, now they are the same all over the world.

Australian/Asia Pacific White Dwarf Issues:

#287 - Has the Fire Warrior art cover
#288 - Has Aragorn on the cover

As in the posts above, back then White Dwarf magazines in each region were essentially independent from one another, in regards to their numbering and even cover art. Though they generally tend to be similar, within a few months or so of each other.

What exactly are you looking for in that issue? Or do you just want to know what the cover looks like?

i've been trying to track down the issue because it has tau related stuff in it. so far, the only place i can find that has anything resembling copies is E-bay, of which i cannot find the fire warrior cover, just the other two. having bought stuff off E-bay before, i know how badly misidentified things can be on there, so i wanted to make sure they didn't post the wrong #'s for what their selling.

Ahh I see. Well in the Oz Editions that I have:

#287 - Only has a few pages on the game, Fire Warrior.
#288 - Has considerably more Tau coverage - Kill Team Rules (includes Tau), Heroes and Villains of the 41st Millenium, a Fire Warrior inspired Scenario called Descent, with rules for Kais, scenery tips for building such a board, and the Battle Report itself, based on that scenario. But that's all from what I can tell.
