OK, first before i post too much (I'm not sure if i am allowed to post this) are you allowed to answer this sort of question, eg. WS=? or BS=? because I'm new to the game and just got the codex, but nowhere, absolutely nowhere does it say what WS or S or T or anything like that means, i know you probably think I'm stupid, but if you are allowed to post this please tell me! (i read the forum rules but wasn't sure)

I'm guessing that all you've got is the codex for your particular army.
But you'll need this book as well :

This is the book which contains all the general rules, and of course what WS, BS, S and T means

You can go to Battlewagon Bits and buy the Battle for Maccrage paperback rulebook, without purchasing the entire set. It has the same rules but without the painting, modelling, fluff, and special rules - just the basics.

Would it be against the rules of the fourm to tell him what BS WS S etc mean? I can understand not supplying unit specific stats and rules but those are commonly used around this fourm, he could probobly do a search and find them out any way if he wanted to.

BS = Ballistic Skill
WS = Weapon Skill
S = Strength
T = Toughness
I = Intitive
A= Number of Melee Attacks
Ld = Leadership
Sv = Armor Save.

Higher numbers are better.

You still need to get the rulebook in some form, obviously(macragge is a great way to get it on the cheap), but this should give you at least a rough idea of what various units are good at.

I dont think posting what the stats mean isn't bad. It lets Snow_Tau at least look through the codex without being totally lost...
