Howdy everyone,
I was curious if anyone had any good campaign systems or suggestions for a Tau force taking an Imperial held planet?

Map based would be a good one in my opinion.
You could divided a map into grids and diffrent points could give diffrent bonuses like if you say one location had an oil depot, you could say the force controls it has more fuel for it's transports and supply vehicles and then all reserve rolls can be +1 to represent that, or a Factory could give you an extra heavy support choice, or a free tank under X points. And when fighting in cities use the cityfight rules. You could also get in depth and have diffrent types of locations add to the points totals you can have..So if you controls fields you can get +100 points (as you have more food to feed more troops) or minerals can let you have +XX points for only armor and things with saves 4+ or better. In donno...I get all excited thinking about all the cool things you can do with a map based campaign. How long do you plan to do this for?

Check out my roleplaying thread in the Enclave for a violent, roughly-realistic example of a Tau vs. Imperial campaign. It was more of a "wouldn't this be fun" than a documentary style game.
