Default World Campaigns
How often do world campaigns occur? Is there a lesser form of campaign that is held in intervening years?

Well world Campaignes happen every now and then. They dont happen at set intervals or anythign. But you will find large scale Campainges announced in White Dwarf mags

Every year for 8 weeks across July and August GW has a huge worldwide campaign, alternating each year between 40k, Fantasy and more recently, LOTR.

We've just had a 40k one in 2006 (The Fall of Medusa V), and the next one is expected to be a Warhammer Fantasy campaign. Rumours point towards it focusing on the reawakening of Nagash, the great necromancer, in case you're interested.

They've already started to advertise the newest one. It's going to be called the Nemesis crown, it will indeed be a fantasy campaign.

Usually what they seem to do is one 40k, one Fantasy, one summer off. Then the cycle repeats. I'd expect the next 40k one either in summer '08 or '09

Or at least if it is a single planet it should be a really major one, like Armageddon was. But no multiple-sector-spanning wars like Eye of Terror. Things become far too abstracted at that scale, and I for one felt kind of distanced from what was actually happening on the ground.

From talking to red shirts about it, I was under the belief that Apocalpyse was to large armies(3k+ points) what city of death was to urban fights. No campaign per se, but I imagine that for a bit, it'll be pretty popular.
