Default GW- How shoddy wordage can crush a young boy's dreams. [rant]

I was happy, a while ago. I was going to direct order Captain Sicarius. The website said I could get it witha subscription or with 15 USD and a phone number.

So, after I realized I wanted Sicarius, I decided to order it.

I forgot the first 3 days, and, remmebering at 8:15 that the lines close at 7:00, I promised myself today would be different.

So I got home from school, and proceeded to get the number.

I callled up. Busy. After 14 tries, I realized it was my phone. I tried my fax line. I sat 20 minutes listening to crappy techno and some underpaid janitor talk in 'Ork Speak' about the upcoming offer of Skull Pass.

Finally,
"This is GW direct, my name is Jeff, how can I help you?"
"Yeah, I'm lookin' for the new Captain Sicarius mini, it's on the website."
"Do you have a subscription?"
"It says I can just pay the 15 dollars."
"Well, what's your name?"
"Mike Kirk"
"..."
"Do you have anything?"
"Sorry, you don't have a subscription."
"I know. But the website says I don't need one."
"Well, it's bad wording. Sorry. [HE DOESN"T MEAN IT!]"
"Oh... thanks anyways."

Here's a quote from the website:
This miniature is available free to everyone who begins a US White Dwarf Subscription while supplies last. Current subscribers can add another year to their subscription to get him free or order him for $15.00 USD from Direct Services by calling 1-800-394-4263 or visit your local Games Workshop Hobby Center. This offer is good while supplies last and there is a limit of one model per subscription

Sure, you see it now, it's pointed out. But to me reading it? Not a chance in hell.

Well, Captain Shrike, here I come.
[sigh]

Aww, too bad dude.

I remember you talking about this on MSN, too bad Games Workshop is really, well, confused as of late.

Try ringing them up again, usually if you get a different person to answer the phone, it helps.

I think he may have been correct, it's only for subscribers.

Oh well... Shrike is a nice model.

Yeah, leave it to them to do something like that.

I suggest you call GW if youre in the US. The intro about the army deals is teh absolute stupidest thing I've ever heard. Had I not been so happy about ordering Sicarius, I would've heartily laughed.

Sigh...

Hmmm... it seems to me that a lot of people connected to 40k have the names "Jeff" and "Mark" I know a guy named Jeff that plays here, I am a Mark, and my friend called them up for rules clarification and the guy he talked to was named Jeff, and he heard Mark in the background

Must be my interest in math and programming:

If (GetNewSubscriptionWhileSuppliesLast=TRUE)
GetFreeMini();
Else
If (CurrentSubsciber = TRUE)
If (AddSubscirtionDuration(OneYear) = TRUE)
GetFreeMini();
else
Case (Choose)
BuyFromDirectServices:
PurchaseMini(15USD);
end case;
BuyFromLocalStore:
PurchaseMini(15USD);
end case;
end case;
Else
ScrewYou(ByGW);

See, completely clear. It's not bad wording, it's not having a logical mind. ;D
( and clearly I need to start programming again, can't remember syntax at all... :-[
