I'm curious on how many out there play with 2 different armies.....I am Tau at heart...but I love hand to hand combat......
I'm looking at making DaemonHunters my number 2 army.....and then maybe mixing the 2 using 2 HQ....1 from each and 2 troops from each.... anyone else do this? I'm just curious! Only reason I'm asking this is cuz I played 1850 against Choas....and got my @$$ haned to me......LOL |

Four armies here, and another on the way. Though I don't actually play games anymore.
I'm not sure you can legally mix units from armies like that... |

i would say start with imperial guard and then play with them a little. then you can switch to either deamon hunters or sisters of battle.

I started off SWs towards the end of 3rd, and I started Tyranids earlier this year. Some time in the future I'm hoping to add Tau and Orks to my collection, even with the price hikes, just because both armies are so cool (and some DoW
).Legally you can't mix Tau and Daemonhunters, but like DM said you can start with IG and then spread to Daemonhunters, Witch Hunters, and eventually Alien Hunters. Oh and if you don't know too much about DHs they're a bit hard to use and if you're looking for a challenge then definitely go with them, but if you're not then you may want to look at some of the other CC armies out there.

Ive been playing Tau for more than 3 years now and just started Space Marines only a week ago. Many people here have more than one army, some even have quite a few if not all of the different armies and many others have finished an army and then sold it to start another. Its not uncommon to see multiple armies popping up in a players collection. After all most of us who do play this game enough and really get into the hobby will be in it for a while and when one project/force is completed well... no reason not to start another. Thats why I started Marines anyway... now if I can just kick myself to finish painting that Pathfinder team and their fish... oh well.

i think starting off as IG is good since you can use most of their stuff in both of the inquisition armies like i would use chimeras and hellhounds leman russes storm troopers are a popular choice!

I own people from, lets see, 7 armies? The Empire and Orks from WFB, some Skaven I got with a subscription to WD (wonder if they still have that deal.. doubt it), Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Tyranids and Tau
I almost had a Necron force too, but my friend decided against sellin' it. This sort of thing happens to a boy who can't make up his mind... I have enough models to play a small game with each army, but I only really have a sizeable Space Marine force... also, don't limit yourself on your selection - if I was you, I'd get two totally different armies to play with, such as 'nids and Necrons, 'cause it will add variety to the game.

Lets see, I sold my tau so I only have left...
3500 pts of dark angels (regular) 3000 pts of Deathwing 2500 pts of Tyranids and I'm starting a dark eldar army (very slowly as this will be my showcase army) and in 2 months I'm going to go back and re start my chaos army.

Most armies I played concurrently was four...Flesh Tearers (old Third Edition force), Imperial Guard Cityfighters, Ordo Hereticus Task Force (Storm Troopers and Redemptionists) and purist Sisters of Battle. All are about 2000pts (the Flesh Tearers a little more, I believe, since they're from a previous edition and aren't a balanced force :P).
Next up...I'll have Ork Goff Rok Boyz and, eventually, some Scythes of the Emperor with Men In Black supporting them (when they do the Alienhunter codex in years to come). Throw in some Flesh Tearers again when they redo the Blood Angel codex...I think that a good 4ish years without Space Marines is long enough :P
