Default who to shoot a little example

okay here is a little something.....

these examples have eldar and tyranid models.

termagants approximatley 12 inches away

genstealers about 4 inches away

who to shoot

the stealers why?
because
A. they are closer to you
B. all of the units can hit them, higher percentage of shots will be fired, and will hit
C. you will sustain less casulaties by killing them
D. you are in charge range, you can charge after you shoot them deystoying the squad.
E. they are really more of a threat to you than the termagants at the back.
F. if the termagants fire you will only loose about 1 or even no men

IF YOU COULD MOVE

i'd move to the left 6 inches and back about 2 inches and fire at the genstealers you'd probably be out of assulalt range of the termagants even if they moved.

EXE 2
[hr]

pretend you had half of your men were the blue circle is(sorry for the bad pic)

who to shoot

fire at either

in this you base what you do, on the dice.
fire at the stealers with the closets squad if you inlicted enough wounds and only around two, three or one are left you should fire with the squad in the open, at the termagants, and charge. but if you killed only one stealer i would then fire at the stealers with the open squad and charge.

IF YOU COULD MOVE
i'd would have moved the squad in the open/up front left and close to the genstealers. and form an L like formation to box them in fire than charge with both squads. regroup and next turn prepare for the gaunts.

OVER ALL
the stealers are the more important target, in both cases. it would also help to know what units your facing. the genstealers are able to cause more damage than the gants. nowlage is power!

hope this helped some. :-\

except in both situations its better to shoot the genestealers. add in that if you shoot the termagaunts with the one squad, then you can only declare charges with them at the termaguants.

honestly i htik the best way to go on this would be to fire on the genestealers with the closest squad, and if you killed a sufficeint amount of them (i.e. all but one) you should let the other squad kill some termaguants. then assualt with the first squad (assuming you didnt use the heavy weapon). pretty much the genestealers come priority over everything else.

yeah

i changed it a bit.

the second one you could really fire at anyone, but yes as said the stealers would be the best target,(i'll have to edit the photo to make it more clear!)

i see what you mean lonley tau

usually i would fire at the stealers with the closets squad if i inlicted enough wounds and only around two or one are left i would fire with the squad in the open, at the termagants. but if i killed only one i would then fire at the stealers with the open squad and charge.

I'm assuming it's an eldar army, you may want to make that a lot clearer.

Considering they are only 6 stealers, they pose a smaller threat that you may consider charging them after firing with the first squad while leaving the other squad to fire at termagaunts.

this all depends on the luck of the dice roll, obviouslly if all your shooting ammasses to 2 dead stealers, then you know who it'd be best to fire at.

i would assume it is an eldar army too, especially considering they are Eldar models, in a given example.

You might want to fix a lot of spelling. I didn't really learn anything from that, what you said was just DUH!

I am sure though that if i was a total idiot that would have helped me.

Why are the Gene Stealers less than 6" away? They are not in difficult terrain, so they would have charged the crap out of you last turn.
