Default ONE LIST TO RULE THEM ALL! or do you `mix n match' to suit your opponent?

I usually play will pretty much the same Ork 40K army list all the time. I find if I `mix n match' to much I forget to use half the cool stuff I've added. What do you folks do? Play one master list, or see what your opponent plans to bring and then switch things around?
Just curious.

Best,

I prefer to build up a large army, but I rarely use it all in one game. I tend to take out of it the elements that will suit the mission/battle best. Not necessarily to beat my opponent (I.e. "Oh no he has a 'X' so I'll take a 'Y'") but to better achieve the objectives (I.e. "I have to do 'X', so I'll take 'Y&#39.

I ALWAYS use one list.

It helps me to become one with it.

If people modifyd there list it would give advantage to people who have more stuff.

That is also a very excellent response Brother Edwin. One has to learn a list well in order to play it well.

I've seen some of your lists Edwin, I can't say I'm impressed.

I use whatever I just bought... or if I haven't bought anything, I use a random assortment of models.

The advantage is that my enemy never knows what's coming. The downside is neither do I...

You can live with the knowlage that I will go to GW Crydon on Tuesday with my iron warriors and I will crush some "balanced" armys into the ground. And theres nothing you can do about it. Muh ha ha. I am so evil.

I wont stop until my army becomes a extension of myself.

The skill of 40k is build a single list that can beat anything, by haveing multiple variations on that list shows you have no skill and in a way cheat to win.

I play with a single list for each army.

That's a controversial viewpoint you have there. Are you saying those who like variety are powergamers? To follow that idea means we are all locked rigidly into one list, one army, and I'm afraid that's not the skill. The skill is to be able to build a list thats fun to use for both you and the opponent, not to build a single list that wins all the time. In no way does switching lists constitue cheating.

I enjoy building lists. I've made thousands hundreds dozens lots of them for each army I have, and make a new one for every friendly battle or trip to GW.
