Default 10th Edition?

Do you think GW will ever stop re-making armies? I mean, don't we reach a point where there is nothing else to do to an army? Perfection?

Your thoughts?

They keep updating the rules, I think at least, to fix parts of the game that are "broken." Also, it's nice to have a few changes every now and then. This time around they seem to be making each army stronger, so I really can't wait to see what the other armies will have.

Also, I defentally cannot wait until alien hunters are given a codex ;D

Yeah, I know what you mean.

But I meant, is there a time when there is nothing left to make? It's all done?

I guess then, Warhammer 500,000 will come out.

And then gamers have a new game to gripe about! Yay!

Failing re-making armies... they could always bring in minor races or failing that they can bring in more scenarios and rules to make it more challenging and fun to play.

Codex: Grox :P
rightio then... JD you idiot!

There probably always will be something for them to do. If it's not fine tuning the balance it will be trying to work in new ideas(airsupport/aircraft) in new armies(Xenohunters/Hrud/Demiurg). If they put in new armies or new parts that menas a whole new round of tuning, flaws will become apparent and more tuning. Long and short, so long as there are people finding a loophole in the rules there will be new editions and remakes.

Let's just hope Games-Workshop never decide to have a do-over like WhiteWolf did.

For the last few editions of 40K and Fantasy, GW has steered well clear of sweeping changes and complete overhauls (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd ed 40k, for example).

What they're doing is refining. The rules they have and the armies we play all have an impact on the overall flavour of the games we play.
Case in point: the rhino rush. Everyone used it in 3rd ed, and every tac marine was an assault marine in disguise. this polarised armies into "assaulty", or "shoot the assaulties before they hit our line" armies.#

GW got sick of the same armies, the same tired tactics and the same gripes from gamers. So they said, screw this, lets sort out the mistakes we made in 3rd ed, with 4th ed. Those minor changes have completely changed the focus of the game.
Its the same story as fantasy.

GW simply took a winning concept, and refined a few of the major mistakes out of it.

So, for the future, further refining is an option. every Marine army I see is a few las/plas squads, a 4h.bolter and a 4 rocket devestator squad. Marines have a "standard" list, pretty much. Unfortunately. Gws new rules have hurt the assaulty army transports which hurt marines (especially Templars, Blood Angels and Space Wolves) so we don't see transports that often any more.

GW might decide to change this.

Or they might decide to make the game "advanced" and try to make Starship Troopers out of it. I doubt it, but there's some awesome concepts from ST that could be worked into the 40k mechanics.

They are the grey warriors, ashen like the wolf, whose greatest joy is to hear the clamour of steel amidst the din of war. None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

Maybe some major advances in fluff? I don't mean like another campaign like "Fall of Medusa V", but more of like an important STC found, or another horus heresy so to speak. I mean, to create a huge stir, making a huge campaign.
