if a unit if fearless, like the necron warriors, how can someone break them in combat or make them fall back by shooting?

I could be wrong, but as far as I know the point of fearless units is that they cant be broken, from combat or ranged weaponary.
And more often than not fearless units con not be pinned either.

I dont think my sayin this is in breach of any legal technicalities.

Hope this helps.

Necrons are not fearless. They make morale, leadership, and pinning checks like normal. It's on page 13 of the Necron codex if you happen to have it.

Not being a necron player, I did not know that.

However, grunt90 if another player is saying that they are to you then they are most probebly cheating.
And should be told so.

or were you on about another necron unit like paryers (not that they are, but they could be, I dont know)

It does say they are fearless, but right after that it says they must take leadership, pinning, and morale checks like normal. So really they are not fearless. He cheated ya me thinks. Just ask to see his codex, and read the bottom of page 13.

No clue. But they have Ld 10, which is fearless enough.

They must be Fearless Vs the ingestion of broccolli and panet (beats me what's it called in English, but it looks like yellowish white carrots and tastes dreadful).

Note that Fearless units are subject to the No Retreat rule, which inflicts additionnal losses should the Fearless unit in question loses combat and is at least outnumbered 2 to 1. Page 48 of the rulebook.

I think what GW was aiming for is that they do not feel fear, but they are not fearless as far as the game is concerned. They retreat when it is logical to do so, so really when they retreat it is not out of fear, but simply because it is to their advantage to do so. At least this is what I gather.

Besides if Necrons were truly fearless, then they could not be victim to a sweeping advance. That is stated in the Necron codex to negate ANY attempt at a WBB roll, as even the resurrection orb has no effect on that. So if you are playing the Necrons, rember that if you happen to sweeping advance them they will not get up, period.
