Default Immobilized vehicle with no weapons vs. target priority

I'm at a loss where to search for an answer to this, so sorry if it's been addressed already.

If you have an immobilized vehicle with no weapons left sitting there do you still have to perform target priority checks to fire on a more distant target?

You don't have to preform target priority checks with vehicles, shooting from or at.

I can't find this, do you have a page# that I can refer to perhaps? Something where it states that the vehicle is effectively destroyed.

To clarify, I am referrring to myself being an infantry unit with an enemy tank close to me that is immobilized and has all armament destroyed. I want to shoot at a target further away but was told I had to take priority check.

Yes you do. Target priority checks have to be taken if you want to shoot anything, except if you choose to shoot at the closest target (be it large target, small target whatever) or you want to shoot at the closest large target. Therefore if there is an unarmed and immobilised vehicle sitting in front of you and you don't want to shoot it, you have to pass a target priority check. Only when its destroyed can you ignore it.

All of this assumes of course that the unit doing the firing is not a vehicle or monstrous creature.

Wrong. a vehicle does not count as destroyed if it has no armament and is immobilised. If you get to roll on the damage table and roll another armament destroyed or immobilised then it destroys the vehicle.

Yeah, if you had a chimera immoblised and weaponless, can a team still on inside to shoot from top hatch, and the side lasguns? (which can't be eliminated-they're less then strength 4)

Yes they can, unless the chimera is stunned or shaken. Although why you anyone would want to do this is beyond me......
