Hi Guyz,
The Stim Injector in the new Tau dex gives the model the 'Feel no pain' rule. When is this roll actually made? According to the wording it says.... Quote:
I am unsure as to how to take this. If he gets to make an AS or InvSave before he get to make the 'Feel no pain' save, then the Stim Injector is worth it's weight in Iridium Armour. Thanks for any help.

It actually shouldn't matter. It is however, taken after the model would ordinarily have a wound taken off.

Why wouldn't it matter?
If you had an armour save and the stim Injector could you take the AS fail it and then take the Stim Inj save? I thought in 40K you could only ever use one save, so in this case either the 3+ AS or the 4+ stim save.

Do the rules say that it's an invulnerable save? If they do then you do not get an armor save in addition to the "stim" save. On the other hand GW is big on giving Marines stuff like this for ridiculously low point cost (too low) and, since Tau have the newest codex, I'm imagining they're going to get some of the same.
Perhaps if you post the wording here (without the points cost so the Gwestapo doesn't call IP infringement) in its entirety. Otherwise you'll likely get two saves. *sigh*

It follows the 'Feel No Pain' Rule in the Rulebook (p74).
I am not 100 % when it comes to the rules of 40K just yet. I think you get to make any other save you have and if these fail and you take a wound then the 'Feel No Pain' rule kicks in and you can try and save the wound. That's how I see it anyway, I just want to be sure.

Nope, you get to make your armor save (assuming the weapon hitting you doesn't have an AP equal or less than your armor). I just read the rule - not too shabby.
But because it says "when loses a wound" it seems clear you make the FNP roll after failing an armor save. It's not classified as an invulnerable save. Enjoy!

Aye. My friend who plays Blood Angles always takes it after he fails his saves. Lord, I hate that Death Company.

Its the same with Khorne, really. Fluffwise, it is explained as even tho he has taken that wound, the Stimm Injectors/rage/toughness of the model enables it to shrug it off. Much like useing medics in Command squads. It just allows you to ignore the wound on a certain roll of a D6. Its not really a save per se, just a chance to ignore the wound.
