What happens if a unit is shot in a way so that every model is not within 2" of another?

O = Imperial Guardsmen

Pretend that only the closest three are within 12". Since only casualties can be taken from those within 12", the huge overkill rips the three closest guardsmen to shreds in a hail of pulse weaponry.

What happens to the survivors, since the unit has been thrown out of coherency?

Its the only question that has ever bugged me... and never gotten an answer leafing throught he rulebook.

I believe that they must move within coherency next turn. Though admittedly this has never happened to me so I am curious myself.

Vash is correct. They merely have to attempt to return to unit coherency. Being out of it doesn't give them any penalties, but a unit must always try to maintain coherency. Hence, on the moving terrain thread, if you stood half your Fire Warriors on a moving bit of terrain like an automated tractor, the other half of the squad would be forced to chase after them.
