1,000, 3,000, 500, and beyond!
What is your favorite army size, and for what reason? i personally like 1,250. feel that it gives a good amount of custimiblity, and is relativly small to other numbers. It makes for a short game, and is rather fun to play at. It seems like an odd number, but makes some sense.

2000. At this point, cheese is more difficult to have with maxing out heavy support and what not. Still possible, but a greater focus on troops, usually. Also, you get to field just about everything you want! In a 1500 point game, you have to leave a unit at home, most of the time. In 2000, bring every type you want!

I agree. 3000 can be fun, but one turn takes an hour!
I like 2000 because of its ability to field at least ONE of every force selection. It also allows you to get a lot of infantry, most special characters, and a lot of armour!

I personally like 10000 point games(the highest I've played). Sure it took a few days but it was a whole lot of fun.

1,700 to 2,000 really. At that point it becomes less about winning combos and about known what to do with what. It also seems to be about the point range the game is really made for as just aobut all the possible 'cheese' is minimized by the amount of other units and types on the board.

4000 points, I like huge battles, especially when it is 1 on 1. Last weekend my opponent actually had and fielded a bane-blade tank. Man that thing was powerful, but under the combined fire power of 12 heavy destroyers and 16 destroyers as well as immortals and warriors it was eventually brought down. Awesome battle. I prefer a huge long battle to a short 1000 point battle.

Definately 2,000 to 2,500. It gives me a chance to use tactics that wouldn't be possible in smaller games, and I don't have to decide which of my units I hate the most. Saves on Tau therapy sessions, I'll tell you.

2000 is my favourite too. It allows for armies to have lots of interesting units while still having a 'full' feel to them (i.e not just a massive battery of heavy weapons and tanks with a few scattered troopers idly hanging around nearby). It's also a lot harder to cheese at 2k. Not that I often face cheesy players mind, but it's a bonus for people who do.

I agree with most people here so far. 2000pts is a nice size for a battle and doesn't take too long really (as long as players know what they're doing :P), 2000pts is what I usually aim for when making a list for a new army as well.
Its also a nice round number, 2000 see doesn't it look pretty :P. |

2000 is nice but I prefere 2 on 2 1500 point games. 2000 each just takes too long but at 3000 points a side and with 4 players it can either go slowly or quickly but the tactics demanded from teamwork are always interesting and the armies are substantial enough to last a while and make some very interesting things happen.
