I don't get it, they WH codex looks exactly like it did before. They didn't even adjust the cost of the rhino/chimera to the current values. It looks like GW just scanned the WH codex and put it on the net. Probably did the same for DH, but I have never thoroughly read the DH so I wouldn't be able to tell.

That's exactly what it is. Not sure why this is confusing people.

Yes I agree GW customer service is not there top marks. If it is really that bad we could get a new hobby yet we don't. Though I won't really feel bad for any one until either their army is completely canceled or the are given Tau Ethereals as their mandatory or only HQ choice. =p

businesses will struggle when the original developers leave and hobby/customer focused leadership team takes over, until then it's just business. we can either take or leave it. =(

Does this mean these two books (and their copies) will be on the endangered species list for GW?

It is confusing people for two main reasons.

One is that they have removed the allies section, either that or missed it out on the scan.

The other is that they feel that by putting on the PDF they are saying they aren't getting updated. I personally feel the other way inclined, that it is actually stopping it being sold so they don't have the stock left over when the new one is produced.

Hardly. They're just on life support for a few months/years until they get real codex. See ref: Blood Angels.

I think it had to happen. The loophole was growing with every Imperial book that came out. There is still some suggestion that it will be out after Dark Eldar, though. Nothing concrete.

Eeeeeh, I've already had someone post a warning note at my LGS about the change so that the 40k players are aware of it, so I suppose anyone that tries it anyway deserves what they get. I'm just miffed that DH players are getting a huge nerf due to the abuse of the Mystic in armies other than DH. We all knew the Allies rule was going to get thrown out, but keeping the induction rules (DH army as a base, and bringing in selections from IG or SM armies) wouldn't have been quite the blow that it is.
