Default Price Increases in June

Hi,

This:
http://darksphere.co.uk/

Covers it all really. They are raising the prices of Codices and loads of other stuff. YAY.

And a quick GW quote* for marketing.
Quote:
'Remember models are worth more than food, buy a codex not a takeaway.'
'We increase the prices so you don't have to buy more!'
So yes Price increases across the board.

Gamesworkshop is a business, we are recovering from a recession and inflation is a constant factory, what more can I say? Besides there are more expensive hobbies and I would prefer GW not going out of business compared to price freeze in the meantime.

17.50 for a codex? It is about 100 pages maybe a bit more, that is ridiculous. Also increasing the price of DE to me seems stupid if the rumours are true and they are re-doing the entire range.

But I'm guessing you'll continue buying them?

Seriously though, Games Workshop prices will always rise, inflation demands it.

No no no, <3 pay rises. Hate price rises : :P

Well yea paying more is never good, but i agree with Silkyspecter - looking at the bigger picture, id rather pay a few quid extra here and there for my minis, than GW go bust and never paint another space marine again :'(.

Its bad for us, but i guess, as Nalpalm Death would say, its a necessary evil (or was that an unnecessary wevil? i forget)

If the price rises enable GW to reinvest into the company and continue to produce new products then so be it.

I personally feel that GW have really pushed the boat out and have produced some fantastic models and additions to our hobby. If my paying an extra few quid here and there helps that continue. Well I don't mind. 2.50 on a codex lol that's not even the cost of a pint.

Still I want to see what other countries this will effect.Codices have had the price raised on them the most. Lets back in 2007 when I first started they were 20 us dollars. Now the have risen to $25 currently. At least I have noticed some of the new stuff is no longer getting a price increase like tyranid hive guard is off the list not selling as well as they should? Neither are venomthropes on that list. Also the gaunt and genestealer boxes are not on the list. Why the hell are they raising the price of biovores they are already expensive. battleforces are not on the price hike list yet yay but for some they suck.

Overall, meh, it is a buisness like Silk Spectre said. I'm not peeved about Codex price hikes because, guess what? I already own the Codexes for the armies I play, and they won't be getting updated for about a year, so I've got time to save some . I'm not planning on buying a whole lot more models anyway. Both my armies are around 1500 points which is the level I like playing most. In fact I bet my Tau are almost at 2k ...

That being said, who the heck's gonna pay more than 15 USD for a single Guardian Eldar Jetbike? Not me, that's for sure, I don't even pay $15 for them now :P...
