Default New starter set pics

The old thread's not on the first page, so I made a new one. :P

All stolen from Warseer. The boyz should blend in well with existing ones, and the terminators don't look bad at all, if those are indeed the snap-fits in the box.

Those look nice.

Evidently the Ultramarines haven't turned traitor.

The Marines don't look too good in my opinion, they still look like the Macragge snap-fits to me. That captain on the other hand is nice, might be a little static but he definately looks the part (I don't really like the plastic kit much). The dreadnought is interesting, the power plant looks different...lacks the giant smoke stacks.

People were also complaining about molded Ultramarines iconography, but I don't see it.

I suppose the poses aren't billiant.

I like that Dread, doesn't look like it's gonna suddenly explode if you hit a pipe.

I don't like that dread at all.. its too boxy.. the ccw is awful, huge, square and what's the box under his arm? it body has no hip joint, just connected by square box.. hey.. like the arm.. rest looks ok, warboss is a bit meh..

But Isn't it funny to think that guard might be able to copy eldar tactics slightly?
You mean "Perform Eldar tactics better than Eldar", right? :P
Not unless the Eldar have an obscure Warrior Aspect that revolves around the complete mastery of the common light bulb.

the marines are OK. but....im going to buy this box for the orks!, the boyz can be mixed into my other mobs, i get a mob of Nobz without adding the metal ones. i get a extra boss. also, the best part is the deff koptas....they have made them more like the scetch in the dex, insteed of the ugly metal models. i love the new koptas and im going to use these!, hopefully GW releases those as a seperate box insteed of the metal ones, anyone hope so too?

People, remember this is the starter set, it's nigh obvious that the models are going to look simple and static, they're designed that way! :

I like 'em.

OK, here's my quick review.

The Dreadnought looks pretty good, but somehow appears different than the normal plastic box. Perhaps it's the picture, but it seems higher shouldered than before.

The basic marines look kinda like the BFM ones, but have some extra gubbinz. The BFM ones aren't bad, but I think the bolter could be held a lil further out from the marine's chest.

The Sarge looks real good. The only real problem I see is the fact that he's looking one way and pointing the other.

From the back, the termies look just about the same as the normal ones. I'm not sure if those are the boxed set ones, but if they are they look pretty good based on the limited view I have.

The marine commander looks pretty sweet, but it's hard to see all the detail in the pic

Deffkoptas are good. The rotor blades look a lil toy-ish to me, but that's easy to fix and the rest of the models look nice.

The Nobs look decent. Not a big fan of the poses (kinda remind me of the 6th edition fantasy boxed set boyz), but other than that they seem alright.

The Boyz are decent. Looks like they took some of the snap-fit boxes and stuck some weapons from the main boyz sprue on em for more variety. Big shootas have a bit of the same problem as the marine bolters, but it works better with the pose of the model. A slight torso twist and it'd look like he's running toward the enemy with his big gun.

The Warboss looks good to me. Might be a lil shorter than the metal one, but seems to have a wider stance on his legs, which I like. While the metal boss model is quite excellent I think tiny legs are one of it's few flaws. Power Klaw is smaller than we're used to, but that's probably because we've seen so many Ghazghkull klaw conversions in the past edition of the rules
