Very exciting news. I'm looking forward for some things being cleared up in the Ork book.

Thanks for sharing,

Hooray, the inquisition isn't dead, they just skipped an edition.
And the Dark Eldar, and the other armies I have most likely forgotten.

Just why would the Daemons need a Faq so soon? Is there something horribly broken or is there something they decided would only work in 5th ed and needed a different rule for 4th?

Dave Taylor has been posting pretty regularly on BoLS and he stated that these FAQs were a list of target dates set by the studio and not meant to be made public. He did go on to say that they are planning on sticking to these dates but that they shouldn't be looked at as a "set in stone" release even though they do plan on having them released on the dates listed.

Why would Daemons need and FAQ so soon? Well, it is set for release two weeks after the 5th Edition release, so it may be just to clear up any confusions that people may encounter with a new army and a new edition.

GW has put Alessio Cavatore in charge of FAQs and hopefully it's going to be a more regular process of releasing FAQS for the armies, which has been a big concern for gamers for quite awhile. It seems GW is really starting to listen to what the customers are asking for and I have to say getting on top of FAQs gets a big thumbs up from me.

What's the difference between the FAQs being 'new' or 'refresh'?

It initially looks like it might be related to how recent the corresponding codex is but then they have Blood Angels and SMurfs (who should by then have their 5th ed codex out) down as a 'refresh'... ???

This is an internal document, so speculating on the "new" and "refresh," I would assume that "new" is for codices that haven't had a FAQ for them yet and "refresh" is for codices that have had an FAQ before and are simply getting a refresh of their FAQs to fit in line with 5th edition.

I wouldn't read into it any more than that.

Well it only took 4 years and millions of dollars of lost revenue to take care of a simple problem such as this. Many of us veterans have been complaining for years about the lack of updates and clarification of rules. This is an expensive niche hobby. Not smart in getting the people who have the long term disposable income to spend on a product mad at your company.

I'm at a -we shall see mode-. I've known this company in a serious manner since `95. I hope that we can see the Faq's in a timely manner from now on.
