Having duly received the latest WD via subscription i can confirm that the new "revolutionary" paints are called citadel washes which are designed to be like wash a model straight over an undercoat!
The design is as per foundation paints only with a black top and yellow band. there are 8 of them: Baal red Devlan mud Asurmen blue Ogryn flesh Gryphonn sepia the three others are concealed sadly :P but they are light green, purple and brownyblack(?) . Happy hobbydays! P.s this topic is here just as confirmation.

uhh, is it like....a new ink? but a none-shiny wash that's just like any other paint mixed with loads of water?

Bah ¬_¬ Sounds silly to me. I liked my inks.. I've never bought any foundation paints.. probably won't buy any of these either..
Id painting just getting lazier and lazier? The Eavy metal team are forced to use these paints.. and I feel sorry for them because they look horrible. |

err...
Yeah. I don't understand. Why is this better than just watering down regular Citadel paints to serve as a wash? |

Maybe they have discovered a technique to combine a non glossy varnish with lighter foundation colors?
Seriously tho, I'll by it and experiment with it, like I do with all my victims, even tho I'm emigrating to Vallejo. I do welcome it if it get my mates of their lazy bums and finally base coat, dry brush and shade their models ^^ Brassdeamon14 : Thanks for the info

The info from WD states (in a nutshell): It's designed to compliment the current ranges and goes straight over white, black and metallic allowing you to quickly create constant areas of shading!
BTW How to paint citadel miniatures is being redone too

Perhaps it has something in the formula to make it better than just making a wash from the regular range. Since it's pre-thinned you're getting much less actual pigment in the pot. I imagine you could make a whole bunch of pre-mixed pots of wash from one regular pot.

[/sarcasm] That's probably the excuse GW is giving, but they just want to rake in more money. I've noticed subtle little ways that GW has tried to get more money. For example, suggesting that you buy a box of basic troops, and trying out your new paint scheme when a pencil, paper, and your imagination os a ton of a lot cheaper, and just as effective.

Yeah I saw that too...I'll get them, but tbh....well.....*sigh*
Btw, one of the other three is Thraka something, and I'd hazard a guess that the middle one is Scarab something.
