Default The end of bitz ordering?

Looks like :'( I honestly don't want to say too much for fear of going off in a huge rant.

http://us.games-workshop.com/news/default.htm#three

Not just bitz. Alot of full boxed sets and blisters (including HUGE chunks of the specialist games range) are basically being tossed out the window. Bear in mind that some of the blisters that are getting tossed may just end up being repackaged as a boxed set with a "stealth" price hike*

These are what I call it when GW pulls something like with the empire soldier boxes. Cutting the box in half, but charging about 2/3 of the old price

Could you care to explain? I'm new to all this stuff, but I don't really get what bitz ordering is, other than the obvious.

So does the online store plan on actually selling anything then? Looks like they've got half the range on that list....

From the looks of the list on that page, the vast majority (if not all) the individual components we are able to order will no longer be available. It seems like they're only going to be offering complete boxes/blisters or some kind of pre-packaged conversion pack.

One of the blackest days in the history of our hobby if you ask me.

Hang on a second - they are getting rid of bitz ordering just as they are about to release orks?!

Why does that not make sense to me?

I notice that this is on the US website and not the UK one. Does anyone know whether they are doing the same to the UK?

Thats super super lame! I hope it doesn't in the UK. Cuase that would be even worse. Whats up with all the price hiking and random ventures that GW need to make money off. What happened to it not mattering what the share holders thought? Anyway. Can someone explain if something happened to Gw whilst i was unaware, cause i didn't notice anything.

Wait. I really don't understand. There are a lot of core models in there. Are they just removing all of the blisters from the stores, or just the online store? And why can't they be more upfront about this? They aren't changing the range. They are eliminating a service completely.

I think many of those blisters and boxed sets may end up just being re-organized into a new form and re-released. For example the ork warboss is supposedly being pulled, but I reckon it's more likely that it's being re released as a boxed set. It is likely that it will include at least some of both the currently available blisters, but with a significant price hike
