The owner says he just didn't like the idea of having to run multiple businesses at once, but as usual the Dale Gribble esque part of me smells something fishy (and it's not me). I think GW's muscling tactics sucked the joy out of things for him in the end, he just didn't mention that specifically. Looks like he's selling his bitz business to the Warstore folks, so all is not lost, but still it's sad to see them go.

It's too bad it's closing, then again I never ordered bits from there seeing as how it was all overpriced.

Gah!* Noes!* BWBits can't close.* Where am I going to get my plastic bits from? * Oh my.*

For those of you in the US, check out www.chaosmailorder.com.* They have a $70.00 minimum order for no freight and offer the same discount BWBits offered.* They will also order any GW stuff they don't stock or any GW bits at normal GW pricing with no shipping (if you meet the minimum order).* Still, it's not BW bits.

Good luck.
Em

After visiting the site, it seems the thewarstore.com will continue BWBits business (or try to). However, I'm going to side with Fishy here. Check out how BWBits' order processed changed. Online orders are now gone. Hmmm...

Well, to my understanding you weren't supposed to be able to sell GW stuff online through a retail front anyway, right? If they were selling box sets and all that I'd understand a little pressure.

We just placed our first (and apparently last) order through BWBits last week so I suppose we'll be getting those gubbins. Real shame, I rather liked having a bastion of conversion and modeling like this in our hobby. Still, assuming you believe the story, I fully understand where he's coming from. Businesses can be rough, ESPECIALLY if you're not prepared to have a huge one (and something tells me that there were quite a few orders).

Suppose I might order a grab bag, could be good stuff. I was really hoping to have enough Space Marine Beaky heads to be able to do it for an entire army but I suppose that's going to have to wait.

Thats bad news. I've never used them, being UK I used Bitzbox, but I hope this won't affect them.

Aww... Snap...

At least it's "sold" and not "closed".
Hope they keep the relative cheap international freight option.

It is indeed sad. I was browsing last night and went back today and you could no longer look at the bits. I ordered pretty much exclusively from them, other than WDs and paint which I get at the local hobby store. Oh well, I was planning on using the warstore soon for some FW stuff so I guess now I can get all my stuff from one place. It still a shame and I agree with Fish Ead, I think GW had a hand in making bwbits fail.

:P > :'(

This is tragic. BW Bits supplied nearly all my gaunts to me and a good number of other things.

It's too bad GW can remember their own rule #1, but I suppose big business prevails.

Yeah, sad. They've lost sight of the hobby aspect completely...

Well, I was gonna buy shield drone bits from GW this weekend, since it's the only thing BWBits never had, but I think I'll hold off on it, I don't feel like giving them any more money right now. I bought a grab bag instead.
