Default What order were the current codexies released in?

This has been driving me nuts for a few days now... The release order is Imperium, Xenos, Imperium, Xenos, etc. and there have been 2 Imperium codecies and 3 xenos codecies since 4th edition came out (Marines, Templars, Nids, Tau and Eldar), this would mean that they either released a Xenos one first or did a simultaneous release, both of which don't seem like GW to me... please help me!

The correct order is:

Space Marines - Tyranids - Black templars - Tau - Eldar - Dark Angels

No, I don't really think they follow any concept of releasing schedule.

Space Marines first was the most logical thing to do because their 3rd edition codex was getting old and they are the most popular race.

Tyranids next was a follow up on the battle for macragge set.

Black Templars was easy money during the Christmas time and fairly simple to do.

Tau didn't need much changing, just a few 'updates' and again easy money which sparks interest in the race.

Eldar had been waiting for a new Codex for a long time and they got there update as well. A pretty popular race and the chance to release some new models.

Dark Angels is a good choice because this shows us how the (rumoured late 2008) new Codex Space Marines is going to look like and DA are pretty popular with the Deathwing and Ravenwing.

Next up we have Apocalypse (like CoD but featuring Mega-battles), a Codex Chaos Undivided late 2007 and I hope March 2008 Orks. After that, things are most likely to change and we just have to wait and see.

I think GW is going to release separate Codices for the 4 different Chaos gods just like the Space Marines have with the BT, DA, BA and SW.

Well this is the rumours board, so things can always change. But I am hearing more and more things that lead towards a new Chaos Dex and I wouldn't be suprised if GW did them before the Orks.

The Marine Codex Redux (rumoured) is suposed to address balance issues in the marine army. The Dark Angel codex may hint at the upcoming changes.

Big ones:
Assault cannons cost more
You can't just take land speed tornados, you only get one/squadron
5-man terminator squads only get one heavy weapon
Marines come in 10 man squads, that you could split into two 5 man squads, but no more 5-man las/plas squads.

I hope this happens.

Thats DA only I think but I think termies will only have 1 heavy and one (assult), and a raise in price for assult cannon and lower in plasma.
