Just wondering, has anyone else thought of countering Nob bikers with a slaanesh Lord with blissgiver? D6+4 attacks on the charge, ignores armour and instant death :O surely that would destroy them. The power fists could kill the lord afterwards but if you are lucky then that is some serious damage.
10 attacks 6 hits 3 wounds 3 kills (do you get FNP?) |

You don't get FNP if you don't get a normal save, so no.(I think)
On the other hand, if you don't completely crush the Nob Bikers, you may have just sacrificed roughly 130-160 points for nothing, not to mention your HQ itself.

Well, knowing Orks I'd say a minimal squad (like 5) would cost about 160 points as well. But I doubt that people take just the minimum squad size. I mean, they're Orks for God's sake. :

I ran a four man Nob biker squad that cost somewhere around 260. A maximum kitted squad will have a 5+ invulnerable save, as well as one, likely two, power claws and WS5. They often have a Warboss riding with them, sporting the same save and claw, at around the same price as the Slaanesh Lord. I'd send him in after you've shot the Nobs down to 5 or six of them.

Nob Biker is about 50-80 Points~ish per model depending on what CC weapon you give him.

On OP's post. Try to go for brute force; Terminators (with Power Fists), Daemon Princes, Greater Daemon and so on and so forth. |

Lash may be cheesy, but it works well against nob bikers.
Lash of Submission works pretty well against Nob Bikers, as they are a small unit that is probably near or below 10 models, so they will be vulnerable to pinning tests (boss poles won't help them with that). Lash also can move them into terrain to force them to take dangerous terrain tests on the way in and on the way out. Lastly, Lashing a unit into a nice big circle is great for obliterators with plasma cannons to rack up lots of hits. A single nob biker mob would probably have to be lashed twice while the rest of the army focuses on the other nob biker mob. Also slowing them down with Rhinos to buy time is a good idea. EDIT: +1 karma for a good tactic, well explained. RFury has been very helpful of late in answering the questions of his Chaos Brethren. I just wanted to take a moment to recognize this. Keep up the good work! - Ged |

Another viable tactic is lashing another (Ork) unit around the Nobs.
Since you can't move through your own troops, it renders the Nobs largely ineffective as well. Really though guys, is it that hard to find some terrain with height/levels? Bikes can go up levels, you can sit around and shoot them all day if you feel like it.

What about Olbiterators? I mean it isn't instant death but 3 plasma cannons can do some damage.... as can three twin-linked flamers at point blank....
Defiler with many cc weapons could do okay.... until he is struck back.... |
