Firstly, they aren't a Legion.

The Dragon Warriors are a Renegade Warband who favour Flame weapons.

In terms of conversion, go with pelts; lots of scaly pelts hanging from their armour (Dragonhide), and equip as many men with Flamers and Meltaguns as you can. Avoid Plasma, or indeed anything that doesn't burn or melt people.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Putting lots of those on your models would really suit them.

As for background, I cannot find anything besides that one picture in the Chaos Codex... so I guess you can pretty much write your own!

Yeah, I always imagined plasma weaponry would burn and/or melt someone...

They would defintley look fitting as Summoned Daemons in a Dragon Warriors force.

If Henderson wishes to maintain a Dragon Warriors theme, then Plasma weaponry is indeed out of the question. Although there is nothing stopping you from utilising the Dragon Warriors name and colour scheme and inventing your own Renegade Warband.
