Well as the title says really.
After reading a very convincing peice of fluff, and having seen so many cool looking armies, i have decided that the Chaos Gods have won my soul for the next year. Firstly need you help in working out which God i should follow (really don't want to be undivided) I am drawn to Combat in all my Armies (including Tau and Guard ) so naturally i am drawn to Khorn and Slaanesh, Khorn for the pure hack slash kill and flying towards the the enemy, but the planned, precise and measuered strokes of the Emeperors Children are also appealing. Next i need to know what i need next really. So Basically, what is best to strt off. Tanks for your help already. The poll isn't necessary. Poll locked - Anton.

Well, you could take both, if you liked. There are no rules against it...
But if you want to stick to one, that's fine, too. Let me give you a run-down of the two gods, and what they're good for. Slaanesh- A slaaneshi army strikes first, most of the time, as the mark of Slaanesh gives you a 1+ bonus to your Initiative. So they're generally good for making swift attacks, and hoping that you kill most of them before they have a chance to really hurt you. The Slaaneshi Sound marines also make use of their special weapons, and they all have an option to fire in Assault mode, so you could shoot at your enemy before charging in. The chances are high that you'll destroy most of an enemy unit before they have a chance to strike back in Combat. Khorne- Khorne love Combat, and if you're taking a Khorne army, most of your units will be Close Combat specialists. The mark of Khorne gives each model a +1 to their Attack stat, so, opposing to Slaanesh, you'll be depending upon quantity of attacks, rather than striking first (Although, there are no negative marks on your Initiative). Khorne Berzerkers usually come in large numbers, and so with 12 Berzerkers with 3 attacks each, 4 for the champion, you'll be chomping through Horde armies, and large units with ease with your Superhuman strength, protected in your bloody power armour, and plenty of attacks landing on your opponent. ;D Hoped that helped you make your decision. ![]() You've produced some good advice Bubgum. +1 Karma - Anton. Wewt, Thanks. ^^

Sorry if it sounded Biased. :P It's just the way I like to write. ^^
If I were you, to start off, I would go with A small army of a mix of Khorne and Slaanesh, so you can get a feel of what each army is like, and which one better suits your play style. I know you said you didn't want to go undivided, (although it isn't, really) but it's probably the best way to start off.

Okay Bare bone essentials for a Khorne/Slaanesh army. ;D-
HQ- Chaos Lord with Mark of Slaanes, or Khorne, your choice. If you're going with Khorne, Then I would go with Mark of Khorne, (Duh :P) and a Daemon weapon, so he gets a potential 16 attacks (I think). If it's for Slaanesh, I would give him Mark of Slaanesh, (Duh, again. :P) a Jump pack (Maybe) and twin linked lightning claws. Terminator Armour could also be a good bet for both of them. Troops- Just go with 1 Unit of Khorne Berzerkers, and 1 unit of Noise Marines, (Give the noise Champion a Doom Siren, because that's really handy, and give 1 marine a blast master, and another a Sonic Blaster) so you have a mixture of both gods. Then, just go with whatever else you like, but give some units mark of Slaanesh, some with Khorne, so, again, you have a mix up of both gods.

Do you have the Codex yet? If not then I would recommend you purchase that before you get any models.
Quote:
Chaos Lords marked by Khorne receive a +1 attack and can take the Bloodfeeder Daemon Weapon, which can give your Lord an extra 2d6 attacks! Chaos Lords marked by Slaanesh receive a +1 initiative and can take the Blissgiver Daemon Weapon which automatically inflicts Instant death with any successful to-wound rolls. Chaos Sorcerers cannot be marked by Khorne, as Khorne despises sorcery in all it's forms. Sorcerer's marked by Slaanesh receive a +1 initiative and have access to the Lash of Submission psychic power, enabling you to move non-vehicle enemy units 2d6 in any direction. Any unit given the Icon of Khorne will receive a +1 attack, and any unit given the Icon of Slaanesh will receive a +1 initiative. [hr] I would like to remind you warriorchris, that there is a spellcheck provided and that you should make full use of it. You've made numerous spelling mistakes, remember this isn't MSN, take your time when posting.
