Default Brilliant idea (i think)

I had multiple nerdgasms over this idea as i think it will look absolutely amazing if done right.

I am planning on using the main hull of a defiler without the top half connected to it, then putting on top a sought of throne. Then i will modify a chaos sorcerer lord (with terminator armour) to make him look like he is sitting down, then put him sitting down on the throne... as you might have guessed. so the end product will look something like inquisitor lord fyodor karamazov's dreadnaught.

the idea behind this, well more the fluff i thought of to have a reason for it is this. The sorcerer is badly wounded in battle and needs to be on life support. The sorcerer then confines himself to a solitary chamber for months on end, improving his psychic ability to controll the physical world. After reemerging from his cell he commissions modifications to be made to an unused defiler to make it able to support his life. using his newly improved abilities he is able to control the defiler's mechanical hull, legs and claws.

so basically it will be a defiler with psychic abilities, but no battle cannon. i am planning on putting an extra close combat weapon on instead of the reaper auto cannon, and leaving the heavy flamers on, as it would be more suitable for a cc unit.

Would appreciate any ideas for what the throne should look like or any thoughts on how it could be improved.

You could use the Defiler rules and say his psychic powers 'count as' a cannon.

You should call in the Bloodied Throne to make fun of the golden Throne.

Oooh nice idea, yeh, I agree with songblade that you should just count the battlecannon as his psychic power, however I reckon you should call it the platinum throne, one-upping the golden throne XD.

Why was this the first thing I thought of?

Seriously though, sounds like a neat idea, I like how you don't actually need to modify the rules for it either! Why not try basing the sorcerer model off of Karamazov even? Might be easier to get a sitting pose.

Hey! I've seen that film! It has Will Smith in it doesn't it? And it's kinda set in the Wild West?

Brilliant man, I'd replace the battlecannon with some sort of psychic focusing artifact, like a modified Fire Prism cannon. I was gonna do the same sort of background for my first Defiler-except it was going to be a Chaos Lord who was interred into a Defiler body when his warband decided he had failed them too often, kinda the same concept as a Penitent Engine.

Yes, its one of the first of many movies to butcher old TV series. I mean, after Wild Wild West, we also had Starsky and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, Bewitched, GI Joe, Transformers...when will the mockery stop?

Hang on, is this still a 40k forum or has it turned into a movie discussion
nah it's fine, anyway... I got rid of the battle cannon cause, you know, it's kinda in the middle, right where i want the throne. But the whole idea of having the sorcerer on it is so that it comes screaming up the battleground, fries some cheesy model of the opponent's with bolt of change, then goes hackety hack hack on their forces... HOORAH FOR THE THINKIE THRONE WALKIE BOT WOO! Another thing I'm adding (so that it's not too overpowering) is that there is know room for a familiar, so the sorcerer can only have up to a maximum of 2 psychic powers. But wait, it will have a nifty trick up its sleeve... i want to make a rule that if any glancing or penetrating hits are scored, before they roll for the damage table the sorcerer my make a psychic test, if he passes it the wound will be directed at him and he can make his saves.
sounds kewal no?
i think it does, and in reply to Falstead, i would use the whole model of Inquisitor Lord Karamazov... the only problem is i am strapped for cash, and don't have a job, so acquiring the dosh could be a little difficult, unless anyone is willing to donate to the poor little midget so he can start construction on his awesomely awesome T.T.W.B, i think I'll just have to put my ceramics skills to use and make a kind of robe thing out of green stuff to cover his legs and the throne with plasticard and spare bits.

Well, if you'd ever want to be able to play with the model I'd suggest you settle for just a counts-as defiler.

I could be a GIANT steed of chaos. You cant put a model on a smaller base, but you can make it larger :P
