Ok, so I'm guessing you want a summary of each of the gods special 'gifts'?

Khorne - The Blood God, Khornes gifts grant your units a greater advantage in close combat, The ferocity of a Khorne Berserker is only matched by the number of attacks he has, so if you want a hard-hitting close-combat army, Khorne is for you.
Special Unit: Khorne Berserkers.

Tzeentch - The Changer of the ways, Tzeentch guides the way of his followers, especially those who crave magical powers, The Thousand Sons always thirsted for knowledge, and were naturally drawn to Tzeentch, if you want a stout army with deadly magical ability, Tzeentch is for you.
Special Unit: Thousand Sons.

Nurgle - The lord of decay, Nurgle lets his followers become their greatest fear, death. Nurgle gives 'gifts' to his followers in the form of diseases and deformities, because his Plague Bearers are adapted to the pain their in, the thud of a bolter shell landing in one them could easily be shrugged off. If you want a tough army, that's extremely hard to destroy, then Nurgle is the god for you.
Special Unit: Plague Bearers.

Slaanesh - The prince of pleasure, Slaanesh gives his followers the greatest pleasures imaginable, but over time these pleasures become stale, and eventually only the most debased acts can stir pleasure in a follower of Slaanesh. If you want an army that has lots of firepower, and extremely fast reaction times, then Slaanesh is for you.
Special Unit: Noise Marines.

Hope that helped .

Alternatively, you need not follow any of the gods.

Even the Daemons are non-god specific (remember the Furies?).

No unit aside from the Cult units is specifically geared to the gods, and it's entirely possible to run an Undivided army or even just a renegade Space Marine army. The Night Lords don't follow Chaos and they're one of the original Legions.

Using things like Raptors and Obliterators (though probably not Obliterators if you want to keep an entirely non-Chaos feel) as well as unmarked Chosen and Terminators (and standard CSMs) you can still make a very competitive list, it's just that the Marks allow you to tailor it somewhat.

Then again, you don't need to pick ONE God. There's six troops choices on a standard FOC, so that's potentially at least one from each! You can mix and match as much as you like in the new Chaos Codex, so if you want Terminators with a 4+ Invulnerable go ahead and give them the Mark Of Tzeentch! Toughness 6 Bikers appeal to you? Well there's no reason they can't have the Mark Of Nurgle. Want your Raptors to dish out more attacks seeing as they'll see combat first? Mark Of Khorne is where you're at. Or if you're up against higher Initiative troops or you want the edge, Slaanesh can help you speed up. And the beauty is, like I said, you can give out Marks to whatever unit you feel like (but you cannot double them up!) to make sure that they can deal with whatever situation you plan on throwing them in.

However, no matter how awesome your T6 Nurgle Bikers are, Tzeentch Bikers can get a 2+ Invulnerable save when turbo boosting

So really, just take whatever appeals most. Obliterators don't follow any God in particular but they're still damn useful when you don't know what you're facing so don't want to take a Havoc squad which will either be really broad and not particularly good at any one thing or will be too specialised and you find you've got a lot of lascannons against a horde army. Obliterators give you the choice every turn should you so desire.

The lovely lovely thing about the new Chaos Codex (apart from the Lash of Submission... but that's covered pretty much everywhere else, use the search bar ;D) is that anything can go with anything. It won't necessarily work well, but there's no rules to stop you doing stuff. So you can mix things to find the deadliest combination, something that the old 'Dex wouldn't let you do (Khorne wouldn't fight with Tzeentch, for example).

So don't cry about the Iron Warriors no longer getting 4 HS slots (or Basilisks... I admit that makes me sad ) because now you can make one of the most flexible lists there is!
