Default Sacred Numbers

I know that they don't give any benefits anymore but I was curious as to whether they even exists as of this edition. I had a scan through my codex but I couldn't find it but somehow I doubt "I couldn't find it, therefore it doesn't exist" is such a convincing argument.

And in the case where they no longer exist I'd like to know peoples opinions about not using those numbers. Somehow it still feels wrong for me to take a unit of berzerkers in anything bar 8 or 16 man. :-\ I guess it's hard to break the habit.

they still exist, just that the undivided codex doesn't mention them. and i bet they will return in the cult codexes.

i always try to take the favoured number, but i play with 7 berzerkers at the moment.

Yeah they still exist, but not in codex, so you have to do it yourself :P
I personally don't like them, six, eight or ten man squads all the way (even numbers are better )

What makes people say they still exist?

...Because they do. You can't just make numbers disappear :

Anyway, the Liber Chaotica goes into the "Sacred Numbers", so they are still part of the official- if a bit obscure- fluff.

A role of 9 while using a psychic power in Dark Heresy results in some unwanted attention of the Deity whose favored number is 9.

6 = Sacred Number of Slaanesh
7 = Sacred Number of Nurgle
8 = Sacred Number of Khorne
9 = Sacred Number of Tzeentch

Just FYI.

I still keep my PM squads at 7, and squads of 10 for anything large. 4 PMs, 2 w/ plasmas, and a power weapon champ is just the perfect amount, especially with the high and new survivability factor of the new PMs.

Unfortunately, the new rules favour at least 10-men squads, or you don't get your second special weapon. Which also means that you either take 10 marines, or you can't take a Rhino. I think that is the real reason why sacred numbers have a hard time.
I do hope they will return somehow in the Cult rulebooks...

Slightly O-T: In cooperation with Max Smirnov, we have designed special Rhinos and Land Raiders for cult units, with new features. I must make them all, maybe this will help
