Default Lord's.....

I'm sure they were supposed to be toned down, but yesterday I played two games.....and well he owned....

My lord is
sorcerer
mark of slaanesh
wings
warptime
=150pts

first game he took out, emperor's champ, one atleast 9 man strong templer squad, and 1 templar (from another squad) it was 1000pts game and he took a crusaider so

second game he took out 2 10 man guardian squads, 1 ranger squad and 1 fire dragon squad, that's about 500pts in a 1500pts, some of that was even without warptime

so am I just stupidly luckey with this guy, or is warptime overporwed (and people complain endlessly about lash :) or what?

No doubt warptime and MoS are a potent combo, especially in taking out the emperor's champion for example. But I also think you must have been lucky to take out all those marines. I can maybe see the eldar dying once in combat with him, but it could partly be that the eldar player just wasn't making the right moves seeing as you were able to engage so many of his units.

So it's mainly luck and my opponents not dealing with him correctly, not that he is uber cheese..........well I'm okay with that

Chaos HQ's have always been one-man slaughterhouses. Good to hear you are keeping to the tradition.

Without the mark of tzeentch you can't activate warptime and a force weapon in the same round, so you are just basically winning with the power weapon ability. That means you still have to steer clear of marine units with a fist sarge.

no I don't with warptime I can re-roll to hit and miss and because I go first, if the fist sarge is in my kill zone he will (hopefully) go down, if not then there will be noone in base to base, thus he can't attack

yeah, we did this thing in our store on release day where you equipped your lord from the box contents and used him against a swarm of 30 guardsmen which came back once you killed all thirty i think, and you had 15 minutes to kill as many as possible, you started about 12"s anyway people were turning them into spawns and such, even having daemon weapons on sorcerers which isn't allowed, the highest there was before i got there was 43, so i just took a sorcerer with mark of nurgle and nurgles rot, and killed 60 ^_^ , i got shot 39 times from lasguns but saved the ones that managed to wound (and hit :P )
so i won, and got a daemon prince as prize to represent my lord being elevated to daemonhood

Well done on that dear chaos devout .

Anyways i was thinking whether i should make a chaos sorcerer with either mark of slaanesh or tzeentch off of the same foundation of your lord except i wil have to have steed instead of wings :'(

hmmm... slaneesh steed is best as it gives you speed i think, that with LoS will be a pain.. though tzeentch counts as jump pack and then he can have force weapon and warp time constantly and go around with some raptors or something

Though remember that you opponent removes the casualties, so if they are clever they will take them from the back first (i.e. ones within 2" of those in base to base) so that they still have things within 2"of your lord to target him. (do you run your commander with squad by the way or not?)
