Default Alpha Legion- Report In

Due to the upcoming Golgothan campaign, it would be nice for the Legion to gather, and fight as Alpharius intended.
If your AL and want in on the Campaign, report in.

Not yet finished painting my army... or even collecting it. Still in the beginning phases of constructing a 1500pt. AL army. Still, got the fluff and I'm checking in...

Lt. Damascus Auerelius of the Warship "Still Beating Heart"

Pugnus ex palam Etiamnun Pulsus Pectus

**EDIT**
Should we be posting anything else? Is this to become a Legion thread like the cult threads?

Alright, then in the spirit of expanding this thread to full on Legion cultivation/tactica discussion, here's the fluff for my new Alpha Legion army:

Long before the Horus Heresy, mankind explored the darkest fringes of their galaxy using competent but often, undesirable agents who gained notoriety as Rogue Traders. Damascus Aeurelius, once a leading Captain of the core worlds of man, was known for taking many liberties in his explorations of the pleasures of the flesh. His hedonism gained him the dubious honorific and duties of Rogue Trader. As the years had seen promotion after promotion pass him by Damascus swallowed his pride and defiantly set to work as soon as the orders came down, ordering the crew of the warship Still Beating Heart to set course for the eastern fringes, out of the light of the Astronomicon.

Decades of trading, plundering, destroying, and enslaving other races and the occasional Imperial outpost had brought Damascus riches and pleasures unlike any experienced as a mere Captain in the Imperial Forces. As word of his indiscriminate practices spread and rumors of potentially dangerous technologies being withheld from authorities grew, the Imperium attempted to recall him only to be rebuffed and have their agents dismissed from his presence or sent back in pieces. Warrants were issued, warships dispatched and eventually Damascus was cornered outside his native territories near the planet Ophelia IV in the Veiled Region. Defiant to the last, Captain Damascus Aeurelius of the Still Beating Heart dove from this galaxy into the deep black between.

Between then and now little is known of what transpired. Agents of the Imperium know that the Still Beating Heart reappeared nearly a century ago and began resuming trading in the frontier outposts of the Imperium and on other worlds with tenuous ties to the core worlds. The warship-turned-trader became known for carrying a variety of Xenos in captivity during these last years as a Trader; occasionally being refered to as the Circus of the Still Beating Heart, bringing the grotesque fantasies and horrors of the universe to the citizens of hundreds of worlds. Strange creatures the Imperium had yet to catalog and stranger weapons and technologies coveted by Imperial Lords on the fringe of the Empire, and beyond the reach of civilization, are all rumored to be in the hands of the mysterious Captain Aeurelius.

Again has the Still Beating Heart garnered the attention of authorities as occasional Genestealer infestations and cultist uprisings wreak havoc in areas recently having seen the passage of Aeurelius and his crew. More perplexing is the arrival of a massive polyhedrally-configured warship, which trails the Rogue Trader but has only been glimpsed before the raids and uprisings occur. Agents of the Ordo Malleus in conjunction with Ordo Hereticus have pieced together the following information pertaining to Aeurelius and his wanderings since the Heresy.

After the disappearance of the Captain Aeurelius and his warship into the blackness between galaxies nearly 10,00 years passed before their reappearance. First known contact occurred near Mordian outside the Ocularis Terribus, though it wasnít until recently that anyone figured out the origins of this oddity in space and the significance behind itís ancient Imperial markings and identification codes. Certain specific raids and the technology stolen in addition to items and creatures left behind point towards Fabius Bile as a potential long-term ally of Aeurelius and the most likely catalyst in his transformation from man to Marine. Where the geneseed was culled from to make the transformation is unknown but tactics and the interrogation of captured cultists leads agents to believe Aeurelius may be leading a far-removed faction of Alpha Legion Marines.

Now, hunted by Ordoís Malleus and Hereticus with contingents of Marines and Adeptus Sororitas in tow, Aeurelius travels more secretively, relying on his cult agents seeded on a hundred worlds throughout the fringes of the Imperium to continue his attacks before unveiling his latest weapons on the agents who hound him.

*********************
I'll post the general troops roster later along with a more precise configuration of Aeurelius and his weapons of choice.

Any comments and criticisms are, of course, welcome, especially anything pertaining to the historical time-line/locations of the 40k universe as I'm not real solid on these. ;D

Eetion,

I'm all for Cult Tactica/Discussion Threads as long as they don't become Spam Factories. Please look at the Slanneshi, Nurglesque, and Tzeenchian threads for direction. (FT is in charge over at the Khornate one, so I stay out of it.) keep it clean and cool, and I'm behind you.

TTFN,
Ged
