I figured I'd make a quick list of things that I believe are worth their points. Some are self-explanatory, others I've put comments.
10) Plasma Guns 9) Chaos Champion with Fist 8 ) Daemonettes 7) Chaos Predator with TL Lascannon and Heavy Bolters Preferred over its less mobile cousin, the Predator is mainly an anti-infantry vehicle which can double as a anti-tank platform, if needed. 6) Mark of Nurgle The Mark of Nurgle is the best mark you can give your marines. +1T, Fearless, and True Grit all together. These upgrades help you in both shooting and close combat, unlike all of the other marks. 5) Furies Furies are just about the best daemon available to Chaos. While daemonettes are usually more popular, Furies retain many of their advantages. With I5 they strike first in most cases. They have higher strength and toughness, as well as their invulnerable save. They can almost match marines in close combat. But what truly gives them the edge is their mobility and cheap cost. 4) Infiltration 3) Manreaper, Dark Blade, and Kai Gun The three most efficient daemonic weapons, in my opinion. The Kai Gun especially is a great weapon, though Chaos HQs are somewhat wasted if not put into close combat. 2) Tankhunting Autocannons 1) Obliterators |

Daemonic stature?
Close combat weapons? Frag grenades? Spikey bits? daemonic visage? |

I'd add demonic speed to the list. Worth it in every case I've seen

Daemonic Possession? Infiltrating basic squads (especially in Alpha Legion where it is dirt cheap)? Lord of Change? Feel No Pain?
I'd make a top 20 list to fit all these goodies in.

How about the cult daemonic banners. Especially the ones for Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch.
You'd have to be a real sucker for cult fluff spirit to use one of those. |

The Nurgle standard is really good too if you get some lucky rolls. Can kill a couple of squads, or at least get them running.
