Hey there all, I’m polishing off my Nurgle 1500 and would like some feedback on it. The list is:
HQ Chaos Lord - Manreaper - Daemonic Aura - Mark of Nurgle - Meltabombs - Daemonic Strength - Infiltrate - Daemonic Speed 155 Troops 7x PlagueMarines - Mark of Nurgle - 2x Plasmaguns - Bolters & CCWs - Aspiring Champion - Powerfist & Bolter - Daemonic Mutation 178 7x PlagueMarines - Mark of Nurgle - 2x Meltaguns - Bolt Pistols & CCWs - Frag Grenades - Infiltrate - Aspiring Champion - Plaguesword & Bolt Pistol - Daemonic Strength 201 7x PlagueMarines - Mark of Nurgle - 1x Meltagun - Bolt Pistols & CCWs - Furious Charge - Frag Grenades - Aspiring Champion - Plaguesword & Bolt Pistol - Daemonic Strength - Rhino - Extra Armour - Mutated Hull 271 14x PlagueMarines - Mark of Nurgle - 2x Flamers - Bolters & CCWs - Aspiring Champion - Powerfist & Bolter - Daemonic Mutation 303 Heavy Support Predator - Twin Linked Lascannons - Lascannon Sponsons - Daemonic Possession 165 Defiler - Mutated Hull 180 Total = 1453 The 1st Troop squad hunker down in heavy cover (ie bunker etc) or near an objective that is close to my deployment zone. The 14 man squad takes the center of the board and runs up (obviously in cover where available). The Rhino squad takes one flank, the infiltrating one the other, supported often by the Lord, the rest is self explanatory. This is only a general battle plan, obviously terrain, opponents deployment may affect this. This has worked a couple of times but came up short against a guy who uses 2 or 3 Dreadnoughts a game, especially in my Lord and flanking force choices! My questions are these: A: Are there any obvious flaws or bad points to this list? And B: Any ideas on how to spend the spare 47 points to in some way combat the Dreadnought menace(s)? All opinions welcomed, Cheers

It looks pretty good but a few things.
The Manreaper is a deamon weapon and therefore counts towards your number of points of demonic gifts. The number you has puts you over 50. It doesn't matter because you are still under 100 but he is now a demon prince. Also for your plague marines because they have true grit I tend to give all of my marines bolters and don't bother with any bolt pstols. I know that is the assualt squad and the pistols fire assualt but I would still take the bolters. Also for the two assualt squads I would either infiltrate both or transport both. With only one transport you put a lot of focus on it and most armies can take down one transport easy. These are all small things but they could make a big difference. |

Good points, I find with the Daemon prince that because he infiltrates and has D speed I can pick my targets, send him in straight away to munch on a few meaty heavy weapons squads, that sort of thing lol. Yeah im usually a fan of Bolters over pistols but I find that extra 5 or 6 attacks on the charge make a huge difference to how long the squad survives when deployed close in to the enemy. Also with the single Rhino I dont find it too much of a problem as I tend to hide it in as much cover as possible, let the threat of it be its major purpose, for the 1st few turns anyways
With my trouble with Dreads/massed light or otherwise armour since I did the first post I have been toying with the idea of using up the extra points and replacing the in Rhino squad with either a squad of 7 Possessed w MoN & Daemonic Talons (gives them rending) in the same Rhino or a squad of 7 Terminators w MoN, Furious Charge & 2 Powerfists. What do you think? All opinions welcomed, cheers
