Lis for 3rd game v Eldar....being the 3rd iteration
- DA, Crozius, Plasma pistol, Daemon strength, resilience and speed - 2 Obliterators - 4 units of 5 CSM with Lascannon, Plasma, 1 unit can infiltrate with MoCU - 1 unit of 6 Bloodletters - 1 of 6 Daemonettes - 1 of 6 Furies - 4 bikes w/ 2 plasma, MoCU - 5 raptors w/2 plasma, MoCU - 5 Havocs, can't decide on what to give them...tempted by 3 heavy bolters and 1 missile, with tankhunter skills Still an assault army, but now backed up with more anti armour firepower. I know Raptors are not as good as bikes but I love the idea of them.....though could still be tempted by 2 bike units.....see how it goes Veterans, bikes, lord & Raptors have to go up fast and be ready to drop daemons......Oblits, Havocs and 3 Lascannon squads job is to keep on thumping enemy with big shots and then join in. Might give Obliteartors MoCU as that allows them to go up as inflitrators...but probably prefer their firepower on the baseline.

Freecloud,
Interesting Word Bearers... very shooty actually for Word Bearers. Anyhow, notes: 1 - Obliterators cannot be given a mark of Chaos. They would have this option in their profile, as all other markable units have, if they could. They cannot in fact. They may not take Infiltration or any other veteran skill either. Obliterators have zero upgrade options. 2 - Min/Maxed Lascannon teams aren't the greatest idea. I'd go no less than 6 models in a marine team, otherwise, it's getting too beardy. Especially with maxed weapon options and veteran skills to boot. I'd go for 6 man teams, with tank hunters and a lascannon if you want pure anti-tank support and just leave the rest in the squad pure bolters. 3 - The havocs don't need a missile or tank hunters at all; Especially with only 5 models. I'd boost them to 6 models strong and purchase 2 or 3 heavy bolters for them. Much more effective; you have plenty of lascannons as it is with 5 on the board already. When fighting Eldar, Autocannons > Lascannons for skimmer busting. Just a thought for you Lascannons versus Eldar are only really good for killing a wraithlord. Otherwise, it's like using plasma on Guardsmen. Autocannons on the other hand double up the shots, and rip through their entire army list; much better overall.Cheers!

Also, I have found repeatedly in 40k IV that you need about 7 - 10 big guns to play the sort of opponents here....the SM standard army is 3 Predators, 3 Dreads and 3 Landspeeders for eg......Iron Warriors are the standard CSM, and the only Eldar I have faced without 3 Wraithlords are (i) my friend who is a Saim Hamnn fan and (ii) my son's and thats only because he hasn't bought a 3rd yet... ....nonetheless will look at the H/B option as I am keen to use SoB, have thought initially of them as Raptors but a Havoc squad would work too.
