Default How Best to represent my army

Okay for those of you who know my army, you know the my guys have developed a primitive form of power armor using nanotube reinforced ceramic composite. but what army best represents this? Less than a tenth of the fighting forces are armored in this and most wear the equivalent of modern day special forces gear. but they do have a few unique units that make a stand in army hard to decide on but basically they have

- Large Remote controlled drones similar to the predators the US military is using
- Medium sized fast tanks with Large smoothbore missile launchers as the main gun
- Moderately advanced technology in general
- Computerized Battlegear
- Large use of missiles and almost no short range melta type weaponry
- General feel of a 22nd century american/European union army

Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

So, we have a Guard regiment with Treknobabble armour? Right. I'm just going to use one line from your description:

They don't have Power Armour. They are a Guard regiment.

Yes Wargamer, the Guard don't have Power Armour, but his fluff DIY fluff army does, and he can't represent that with just the Guard book. To represent the Power Armour guys, you could do allied Sisters of Battle, they aren't quite as over the top powerful as Grey Knights, and a are still Power Armoured, and they have the T of a normal human, since i doubt your fluff concept of Power Armour comes with the same kind of augments that the Space Marines have, with auto-clotting blood and metal bones

Nope, No genetic manipulation, no black carapace just an inch thick coating of super high strength ceramic composite. So I guess sisters would do very well, especially given the .44 caliber sabot assault rifle given to those who are honored enough to wear the armor.

I do like the tau with human heads though.....

If their crude power armor is a effective as Power Armor, use the rules for Witch Hunters as allies in an Imperial Guard list. For the attack drones the best you can do is probably converted sentinels. Almost all of this can be done with just the Imperial Guard codex.

yeah, that's the part that bugs me the most. The drones are the most unique part of the army, the power armor is more ceramonial/super elite special forces, but they use drones extensively because of their limited numbers.

Yeah, and you can fit nine Sentinels into a single army list. If not more. I seriously doubt US Army detachments of the size you see in a game of 40k either have, need, or use even that many Predators and Reapers at once.

Just spam sentinels with missile pods or something and you're good. Alternately, in a stretch you could concievably use Valkyries with missile pods as yet more drones.
