As you know, I'm writing many, many things. First and foremost of these, if my future pans out as I'm expecting it to, is my novel which I plan to publish. I have oodles of ideas for setting, and this is where you guys come in.

In order to be successful (I'd like to do this for a living), I need to be aware of what the science fiction fandom would like to see - either more of something existing, or something new - and that is the purpose of this poll.

I may or may not go ahead with the frontrunning ideas of this poll, but the information I learn from it will certainly help. I may or may not post extracts from the work as it is being worked on here, but I will not be posting the whole thing in its entirety.

Basically, this is so I can see clearer what my target audience would be interested in. You have six votes to spread across the whole thing, so use them wisely - if you can't think of anything else to vote for, do not vote for something at random. You do not need to use all your votes.

Please pick one each from the "tone" and "setting" blocks at the top as well as whatever specifics you'd like to see.

It would also be of great help to me if you can post saying what you voted for, to see if there are any patterns between things that people would like to see together.

Apparently those are not the most popular though. :P
And might I suggest... Don't cater for an audience, just write for your self, and if other like it, great, if not, meh. :P

Don't worry, I will - all the things on the poll are things I'd love to write about, hence asking people so I can at least narrow it down =P I'm pleased to see a lot of votes for supernatural creatures as that's probably my favourite idea but I feared it came out of far left field and it wouldn't be something people would want to see. I've never seen it done before in a sci fi setting.

Okay I voted for Past (Steampunk), Shades of Grey, Humans, Supernatural, Alternate Earth, and Projectiles/Explosives. I just thought it could make for a really interesting story, and it was a combination that I had never seen.
