The guard platoon quietly advanced forward, always keeping an eye out for the enemy. The soldiers switched their gaze from side to side, but saw nothing. But the jungle was a big place, and anything could be lurking near.

The sargeant in the platoon stared toward his left side, always being aware. The Xenos were close, he could feel their presence.
He motioned with his arm to crouch down, and began to survey an opening in the forest. Suddenly a scream was heard at the back of the unit. The body of a guardsmen fell to the ground in two, his stomach sperated from his thigh. Organs and guts piled on eachother as they simply fell out of the body.

The squad panicked, and a younger soldier darted away from the platoon, only to be torn apart by a blury flash that raced by. He fell to the ground, and a gurgling sound was heard coming from the poor soldiers throat.

"Stay together! Ready your weapons!" The sargeant yelled. The frightened men did as they were ordered, but suddenly a burst of acid cut through a the group, melting the targets in a matter of seconds. The men opened fire into the woods, firing at things they could not see. Then they saw their stalker for the first time, but were no match for the beasts weapons. The sargeant bravely charged the huge monster, but was cut down by the sweep of a massive arm. Blood spued out into the air, and what was left of the sargeant fell to the ground. The remainder of the squad stood still, paralyzed with fear. They then took off running, but were unable to outrun the Lictor.

but hey i liked that, a lil graphic with the squirming half-a-man but i thought that was sweet.
