Default Autarch history

i was pondering an idea

an autarch that of course has wondered down many paths, but of all of his paths he has prefered that of the fire dragon.

so he uses a fusion gun and wears a fire dragon helm.

would this be a realistic idea?

Certainly. My Autarch uses Mandiblasters, a Scorpion's Chainsword and a Fusion gun, due to the Craftworld's emphasis on the Striking Scorpion Path.

Not necessarily, there are no hard and fast rules for what an Autarch should be... whilst an Autarch should, nay, must have walked many the Path of many Aspects, we have nothing about how they choose their gear.

One one Craftworld, they might take one item from each Path they've walked, on another it might just be whatever combination of equipment suits them. My Autarchs must have held the position of Young King, and in so doing find themselves walking the Path of Command... and as my Craftworld focusses on Striking Scorpions, my Autarchs use Scorpion gear.

In short, if you want an Autarch who likes using Fire Dragon stuff, there's nothing to say it's wrong!

Wargamer, didn't you originally think up autarchs? I saw an old thread a while back when you made up some rules of "autarchs"

No, the idea was not my invention. Autarchs have been around for a long time, if you know where to look... I just created a sort of "Master Exarch" character to fit between Exarch and Phoenix Lord.

I made one that I think is freakin great- Jet Bike, lance, power sword, mandiblaster. The Exarch walked the Paths of the Dire Avenger, Shinning Spear and the Striking Scorpion.
My other idea is an Autarch armed w/ a reaper launcher, powersword, and maybe mandi blaster. I will always take a PW as in the last codex my Farseer could never gert one.

You can take a Laser Lance, but you have to be mounted on a Jetbike from what I hear.

I'm giving my Autarch Hawk Wings because he followed the Path of the Swooping Hawks, but he's actually an Eldritch Raider captain; his fusion gun will realy be a fusion pistol, the powersword because no self-respecting wealthy pirate should be without one... and the Mandiblasters are actually representive of duel-weilding the fusion pistol and powersword, as well as a profusion of digital weapons.

My craftworld has Autarchs themed to one specific path, I call them Auxarchs.

The fluff is they started to follow the path of command only just before they would have become an Exarch, this means that though they appreciate the usefullness of other aspects they cannpt stop fightting in the maner of their aspect.

Like this you could have several Auxarchs (in my craftworld their is only 1 Auxarch for each aspect and only 1 true Autarch at a time):

Shining spears: jetbike, laser lance, 120 points

Swooping hawks: Swooping hawk wings, lasblaster and power weapon (I use Baharroth as the model), 101 points

Warp Spiders: jump generator, death spinner, 100 points

Howling Banshee: bansee mask, shuriken pistol, power weapon, 83 points
Other Howling Banshee Auxarch: bansee mask, two power weapons, 93 points, use Jain Zar model

Striking Scorpions: mandiblaster, scorpion chainsword, shuriken pistol, 85 points, you could use Karandras and count his scorpion's claw as an ordinary hand

Fire Dragons: Fusion gun, power weapon, 90 points, use Fuegan as the model just trim the firepike down a bit.

Dire Avengers: avenger shuriken catapult and power weapon, 82 points, use Asurmen as the model

Dark Reapers: Reaper launcher, 95 points
Alternative Dark reapers: Reaper launcher, power weapon, 105 points, use Maugan Ra and count the shuriken catapult as the reaper launcher.

Then there is my Autarch who may be equiped any way so long as it is not one of the above.
