Default Second Ashes Test match...got any fingernails left?

What an absolutly amazing game of cricket...Certainly the best test match ever that I have had the priviledge of being glued to the TV for. Not just the individual heroics by the talismanic Andrew ''Freddy'' Flintoff, but the whole team played their part.

Looking like a one sided victory before the start of play, with the Australian tail needing over 100 runs and just two wickets left they batting with courage, Brett Lee going through the pain barrier and surely batting through several broken fingers.

Eventually Stephen Harmison had the Aussie number 11 Michael Kasprowicz gloved behind, to capture a scintilating 2 run win, just as the Aussies looked to have pulled off a remarkable win.

A memorable test match that words can only try and describe, Well Done England!

Cricket, a game you can play for five days and still have a draw.

Cricket isn't a sport to me, although it is a game. In Barbadoes, they're really good.I saw the barbadian team during my cruise.

Isn't a sport? Playing for five days solid, even playing for a day solid wears you out. You need stamina, fitness, agility, and of course skill as well. It is just as much a sport as Atheletics, Football and Rugby!

I play Soccer, Hockey, Tennis and a tad of rugby.

Cricket is a silly sport to me.
Although I do respect your opinion on how you like it so, I will not say anymore to offend.

Maybe you have to play cricket yourself to realise it is a sport...Where do you put the borderline between sport and game anyway? Don't worry, I won't be offended if you just say what you think.

I love cricket and it is most definately a sport.

It was a great test match.

When I used to play quite regularly I always got hurt playing cricket far more than I ever did playing rugby, football, tennis (obviously) and even boxing. Then again I didn't wear pads very often (and never a helmet).

The only good thing about cricket is, they now need to end play at six o clock, meanign I don't miss the simpsons to a game that exactly 500 people north of the border care about.

It's not a very good spectator sport to me, as it's a rather dull drawn out affair , but I know that, like chess, it's incredibly boring to watch unless you're really into it, and you may find it boring to watch but fun to play.

P.S Go Australia.

Whoa there, thats bordering on flaming my man! ;D

Not all cricket is played over test matches anyway, twenty20 (which is what you would play at junior level anyway) has been a revelation, and is thrilling for all, bringing in full houses every match and different types of people, even those who thought that cricket was 'boring'! Now Twenty20 is a spectator sport and a half! And its only takes 2 and 3/4 hours to complete!

Yay, another cricket fan on the forums! Cricket can hurt a lot...as I think Brett Lee will tell you too well after his innings! At my club we only really have one bowler you want to duck too, although throwing yourself around in the field can get painful at times...

Cricket really is a sport that you have to play to appreciate properly in my opinion, because I once shared the opinions of 'Jack Bauer', but it is amazing how you can be turned around, as I mentioned, Twenty20 is doing a great job of that!
