Default Need a pair of boots

OK, So I'm having problems with rolling my ankles lately, and I need something with more support than either my shoes or sandals obviously do(n't) provide, anyone know of some decently priced(between 50 and 150 dollars) boots, preferably black, that can be shipped and somewhere in a week, week and a half? Lace up are fine, as are hiking boots.

EDIT: They need to be able to stand up to a fair it of wear, considering I work at a summer camp and would be wearing them there.

Have you tried army style boots? Never had problems with them. I'm sure you could find some in black too.

icer, the bates boot company has some really cheap boots that are what we use here instead of buying boots from the UDC. they're about $75. i don't know how fast they can get them to you yet though.

And here I was trying to get around the whole army surplus thing.

Oh well, I love those boots. Comfy as hell they are.

Man, buy Doc Marten's. I spent ages trying to avoid these, for various reasons, including fashion, by going military surplus and various other ways, but now, having bought a pair, i can honestly say they're the best option. They're the easiest to wear in, the most comfortable and the most supportive, if you have shit feet and shit ankles, if you need that. And to top it all off, they're the easiest to get repaired. The extra money involved in buying them is well worth it as they will last longer (going by experience) and be better to wear than just about any other option out there.

I'll look into them next time I'm home, problem is I've yet to see a pair that I like. :-\ I used to buy their shoes though and I remember them being very comfortable.

Are we talking work boots, just because boots, or hiking boots?

I'd expect that army boots would work for all occasions, but I don't know whether they'd fit right- and fit is massively important for boots. Doc Martens seem to me to be less supportive/more for look than hard wear and tear.

Personally I would go to a local outdoor shop (hiking, hunting, outdoorsy stuff) and find somebody to help you find the right pair of hiking boots. If there's a branch of REI near you I really suggest that you go there, their people are always good when it comes to this stuff. I personally use my hiking boots as just boots in general, since they offer plenty of protection and a lot of support. I'd advise you to find somebody to help find you a pair that fit well whatever you go with, since not all boots fit everyone well even if they are the correct size.

A good pair of boots will probably cost about $100, give or take about 20.

Went over to Scheel's Allsports on my night off, aka right now :P and got a nice pair of merril's for 135, or about 15 dollars off their regular price.
